Goku constantly fights below his potential, forcing his opponents to work their way up to their maximum potential while fighting. A 1 minute snippet of them both fighting while Goku is SSB is hardly any indication of them being on par. You haven't brought enough evidence to the table to provide reasonable suspicion of your claims.

 

Android 17 was also holding back....just saying

 

You guys are failing to realize that power boosts in dragon ball super are nothing like dragon ball z. Frieda was able to reach super saiyan blue level in a few months of training and he was literally weaker than a super saiyan in dragon ball z. In DBS some characters get stronger unexplainably fast and android 17 is one of them. He might not be stronger than SSB goku but he's definitely up there. Dude was able to not fight full power against SSB goku and not get wrekt that seriously means something because usually when goku is testing someone he does not go SSB he just stays in regular super saiyan or super saiyan 3

 

Android 17 is no way close to Gokus power. It's not even a debate. You also need to note that, just because Goku is in SSB form, doesn't mean he's actually utilising that form entirely - he could still be fighting at a SS2 level.

 

Ok fine, maybe he's not as strong as goku but android 17 is still definitely very powerful.

Akira toriyama has stated himself that android 17 has a LOT of potential.

Now keep this in mind, FRIEZA who was weaker than super saiyan goku, was able to reach Super saiyan blue power in a few months of training.

So why is it impossible to believe that android 17 who was definitely stronger than frieza in dragon ball z and (has been stated by toriyama himself to have a lot of potential) trained for several years, so its definitely not impossible for him to be near that level. Keep in mind he was also holding back against goku, its not like goku was the only one holding back... They both basically implied that they were holding back at the end of the fight.

You guys are underestimating 17, the man has literally been training behind the scenes since the android saga which was several years ago. Dude was already above super saiyan level with massive potential and has been training for YEARS what do you expect to happen?

 

So you think Android 17, training vs human poachers for many years, is equivalent to Gokus training and progression through all the sagas? I.e, Cell, Majin Buu, Beerus, Zamasu, training with Whis/Beerus etc. Dude cmon lol. You can't compare them two.

Sure Android 17 may be strong compared to the other Z fighters, but no way near, Vegeta and Goku. Goku and Vegeta are essentially 6/10 strength compared to Beerus - that's what Toriyama said btw.

 

Lol frieza trained with dodoria level minions for 4 months and reached god level powers, anything is possible at this point lmao.

I agree that 17 isnt as strong as goku but he's still up there

Also keep in mind that android 17 doesn't get tired, so i'd imagine that his training was pretty intense...

 

You cant compare Frieza and 17 in terms of power scaling.

Frieza is the series main villian. He needs to be brought to whatever level goku is to progress the story along.


If course "anything is possible" its an anime. Hell they made kid trunks and goten transform at age 8 because they needed to progress the story along. But none of the imformation you have provided is substantial enough to support your claims.

 

Whatever, at this point we don't know for certain how powerful android 17 is so assuming that goku is miles ahead of him is just ridiculous there's no "information substantial enough to support that claim." I'm sure we'll be able to gauge his power in the tournament of power, he's bound to fight against powerful opponents.

Starting to wonder if the angels are actually antagonists. Angel of universe 9 smiled when his universe was erased and the grand priest is just creepy

 

Could it be that the grand priest and angels have always looked for a challenge to fight strong guys (like goku and vegeta) and having this tournament of power allows them to fight the strongest ones in the future? Hmmmmmm *thinking*

 

I was reading on reddit about a theory about how the grand priests and the angels might be planning on getting the super dragon balls or something like that after the tournament ends.

 

The androids technically are humans, they still have human organs and shit but some of their parts were changed. You can read about it by googling how krillin and 18 managed to make a kid.
