Commission Staking Removed. Opinions?

Good, tired of dice/flower/gambling host who make money with no risk, you wanna gamble risk your own money losers.

 

Very upset. The poll didn't even pass and they still took action. Nothing's wrong with commission staking, if they want to get rid of rwt get rid of staking and make a trade limit ffs

 

I feel bad for my friends that recently bought into these friendschats. They've already made plenty IRL but it still sucks to pay 1b 07 gp for a rank and only be able to make 90m profit before this change.

I like this change overall. It sucks for people that only participate in odds staking but they will manage. I'd like to see Duel Arena go back to a state where odds stakers are the minority or else it will end up like RS3 staking, which is the worst place to be in RS.

If you want to do odds staking, you will get spammed by the other odds stakers. If you want to do 50/50 staking you will get spammed as well, simply because Duel Arena is so dead and the some of the regular odds stakers are rather desperate to get stakes.

I guess when it comes to RWT Jagex's 'Democratic' pledge is irrelevant, they will do as they wish.

 

Well it was kinda obvious that this would get changed as it was causing some major real world trading problems.

I don't think any activities like this are good for the game in a long run so I'm glad it got changed.

 

Ive found that most people are just jealous of hosts. If you took the time and invested into being a host and earned trust along the way im sure you'd feel different. Your just a lazy piece of shit just hating on others success. Jagex has and always will be fucking retarded. They continue with un wanted updates and stupid decisions. This will only increase the death of runescape. Im done with the game and the fucking morons who run it. They could have easily allowed it considering 44% had no issues with it. They just alienated half of their members. GG jagex


fyi Max Mains had rules, including being banned for rwt meant loss of your rank. Max mains discouraged rwting and wanted their hosts to follow jagex rules. I believe deep down this had alot to do with twitch allowing "staking for friends". 1 month after twitch allowed commission staking jagex steam rolls it with a quick poll and unjustified actions.

The survey poll revealed that more people were in favor of keeping it than removing it completely.

 

They're just slowly removing the ''thrill'' factor that keeps some of the players enjoying RS.

It's all at duel arena, it affects no-one outside of the duel arena, it received the most votes out of the 3 options on the poll to keep it, yet Jagex remove it.

How will they enforce it's removal though? Can't you guys just do it anyway? Granted, bigger risk. But so is RWT allegedly and most of us on here have gotten away with it easily.

It doesn't exactly sound to me like it is easy to trace. Any thoughts on this? Couldn't this just be done underground?

Obviously, the convenience takes a massive hit, but most people were RWTING with the money they made from this, no? So Jagex isn't exactly wrong to ban it, from their vantage point.

Fun sucking has been Jagex's MO since IVP took over.

Do you really expect me to believe that a legitimate rs07 player would save up to 1B 07 gp simply to stake?

That's like saying one person gets around 20 solo arma hilts, or 63 bandos tassets, alone without splits or anything.

Ofcourse they would state that they discourage RWT to make the betters gullible enough to use them "feel safe", but in reality the majority already knows that the user would actually buy gp to buy the rank.

 

I don't get why Jagex does shit like this. It doesn't effect me in the slightest at all, however I thought that 2007 Scape would be the players game, the players updates, the players choices. Not Jagex making the choices, however Jagex made the choice here.

I feel like the arena is going to be more bear now, not empty but for sure a lot less people, which might effect regular stakers as well. Hope they don't keep going in this direction of making the decision rather than the players.

 

But when it infringes upon their rules, and let's be honest, it did...then Jagex has every right to shut it down. There's little doubt people were using it as a platform to profit in actual real-life money. While I don't care about people doing this, Jagex does (if you're not RWTING their way aka bonds + Th keys). So from their perspective, it's not surprising they made a unilateral decision.

They also purposely did this as a survey versus more of an actual poll, so that they could do just that.

Frankly I think people should be happy it was only commission staking impacted, I could have seen them making swapping against the rules too, but they didn't ( a practice that can still make you a healthy profit).

At the end of the day this is just a deterrent to the people that used it to RWT. What's one more rule for them to break? The risk is just higher now.

 

We can still commission stake. If you read carefully, they removed "organised fc commission staking". If one of your friends wants to stake for you, you can do that. Just no commission staking in an organised fc.
