I think possibly tryin to outreach to other people playing different games and showing that we support games other than Runescape.

This was the main idea thrown out there.

Referring to gold sellers/buyers here who have their own websites, i.e; arcus/busta, etc.

 

The problem is though is that they sell at a premium if they referred people here they would find people who sell gold at rates cheaper than theirs. They act sort of as a middleman, where they have the gold and funds always available to buy and sell gold so you can get it near instantly off them, people who visits those sites exclusively could instead get it here for cheaper which would draw away customers.

One of the longer ongoing problems is that newer users have a tendency to be scammed by people which causes them to seek elsewhere, this stems back to when this was the biggest black market website for runescape, so naturally there were lots of scammers and cons, but over the years lots of websites have caught up so there is choice in the matter and many choose to be active elsewhere. If we cleaned up the scammers more proactively than we are doing I think it would go a long way for the image of the website.

 

I agree with what you said. However, that will always be an issue, regardless of what we do.

Also, the linking would be to that seller/buyers thread, respectively. Another thing to factor in is customer loyalty. Most of the customers that flock to large gold dealers are already aware of other sellers/buyers, and chose to stick to their preferred dealer; so linking them back to Sythe, to that respective thread won't really act as a negating factor, imo.
