Obby Maul Pure Guide

Though it was better to post this guide free.
Made this like a year ago. Enjoy anyway.




Maybe you want to do Recipe for Disaster, because they give Armoured Gloves which are the best Gloves. You can't get them all though. Here you can read what Subquests you need to do.

Recipe For Disaster | Zybez | Tip.It

Before you can start Recipe for Disaster, you need to do:
- Cook's Assistant | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: /

Now get 10 Cooking, start Recipe for Disaster and do these Subquests.

Mountain Dwarf: | Zybez | Tip.It
- Fishing Contest | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 10 Fishing

Goblin Generals: Wartface & Bentnoze: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: /
- Goblin Diplomacy: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: /

Evil Dave: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 25 Cooking.
- Gertrude's Cat: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: /
- Demon Slayer: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: /
- The Golem: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 25 Thieving, 20 Crafting
- Shadow of the Storm: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 30 Crafting

Pirate Pete: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 31 Cooking.

Skrach Uglogwee: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 41 Cooking, 20 FireMaking, 10 Mining.
- Big Chompy Bird Hunting: | Zybez | Tip.It
Stats needed: 5 Fletching, 30 Cooking, 30 Ranged

After you completed all of these subquests, you get Mithril Gloves.

V - Training Spots (Strength)
Take your best armour and weapon that you can wear from your bank and go training. This are good places where you can train.
Do not forgot your food btw.

Strength 1-->20
I recommend you to train your Strength on Rats/Giant Rats in the Varrock Sewer. They give kinda fast XP for that Lvl.
If you are member, you can also go to Chickens. Don't go to Chickens if you're still F2P, to many people are training there.

Strength 20-->60
Once you're 20 Strength, go train at Monks at Monastry. There are lots of people, but you only need 1 Monk to train on since it takes a long time before you kill it. You can be a lil' bit afk if you want, but watch out for Random Events.

If you're Member, you can train on Rock Crabs too.
This is gonna be a long way, but it's worth the time.
Training Tip: Take a Cannon with you if you're training at Rock Crabs, so you can train Range and Strength together. But stand on a place where only 1 Crab can hit you, since it is a Multi Combat zone.


Strength 60-->99
From now on, you can train your Strength at the popular minigame 'Pest Control'. | Pest Control Guide by Jagex | Notice that you need 40+ Combat to enter Pest Control
Go there with your best armour and a Obby Maul. You'll always gonna attack with an Obby Maul there since you hit good with it.
If you want to get your Combat up, go train your Ranging!
With 1 Atk/Def/Pray/Mage, 59 Ranging, 45 Hitpoints and 60 Strength, you're 40 Combat so you can enter.


I first gonna say where you need to train in P2P:
Rock Crabs (Lvl 1-70)
Take all your stuff you can see in the list above with you and go train at Rock Crabs all the time. It is very fast XP, especially when you use a Knives+Cannon combination.

Now for F2P:
Chickens (Lvl 1 - 10)
Items needed: Shortbow, Oak Shortbow, Leather Coif, Leather Body, Leather Chaps, Leather Vambraces, Ammy of Power, Arrows, Cape, food.
Go to the Chickens (Lumbridge) or Rats (Varrock Sewer) and kill them 'till you're lvl 10 Ranging.
Don't forgot to wield your Oak Shortbow once you're Lvl 5.

Cows (Lvl 10 - 20)
Items needed: Oak Shortbow, Leather Coif, Leather Body, Leather Chaps, Leather Vambraces, Ammy of Power, Arrows, Cape, food.
Once you're lvl 10 Ranging, go to the west of the Chickens 'till you see Cows. Kill the Cows 'till you're lvl 20 Ranging.

Guards (Lvl 20 - 40/60)
Items needed: Willow Shortbow, Maple Shortbow, Coif, Leather Body, Studded Leather Chaps, Leather Vambraces, Ammy of Power, Cape, Arrows, food.
Go upstairs in Varrock Palace untill you're at the Guards.
Kill the Guards untill you're lvl 40/60 range.

Lesser Demons (Lvl 40/60 - 99)
Items needed: Maple Shortbow, Ammy of Power, Cape, Coif, Leather Body, Green Dragonhide Chaps, Green Dragonhide Vambraces, +-1000 Iron/Steel Arrows, Lobsters.
Go to Karamja or Wilderness and go train there all the time untill you're a decent Ranging Lvl. It's recommended to get like 50 Range, because you wont hit very hard with 40.


VII - Player Killing
Once you have decent stats (60 Range, 70 Strength is good), you can start PK'ing.
This is a good Outfit and Inventory:

You can switch Black Dragonhide in Red Dragonhide if you want.
Also take Ranging Potion, I forgot to take that in my inv.

Now, once in wild, lower the HP of your enemy with Ranging. Use special when he's half barred, and then take Obby Maul to KO him.
This is my tactic, you can find one yourself if you want to.

8/10, I like the quest reward list, a very nice touch. One thing i would improve on is giving more options on where to train.

 

here some equipment suggestions. Climbing boots. Combat brace. (better then mith gloves and dont require any quests completed.


also you can have your str more then 1 lvl higher then range. because for you get 50 ranged at like 32combat. and 60 strength at 32 combat.

 

Nice guide...i got me a bot doing str atm...32/99,,,,it will get banned soon i think.

 

unless its a random event fooling bot then good luck p.s make sure it clicks at random intervals not excatly every so and so seconds

 

Very very nice, I'm a tough rater and this definetely deserves a 10/10 for the thread, and 15/10 for the effort. Very nice again.

 

If you do the quest Death Plateau for climbing boots, you automatically recieve 3000 atck xp, therefore, ruining your obby maul pure.

Combat brace has same bonuses as mith gloves, and a more expensive option.

Up to you however... Just pointing out some flaws

O ya. but your wrong aswell. combat brace gives +7 to slash,crush and stab bonus and +6 to str

mith gloves give +6 to crush,slash and stab bonus and +6 to str. making combat brace slightly better.

sweet guide got to level 1-65 attack in 3 days....1-65 strength in 5 days and i know it says without defence but i am working on defence any ways lol my defence level is 45 in 3 days of work so put this together combat level=80 in 11 days of playing runescape using this guide! GREAT help!
