HOW TO ENTER​

• Play the free game PokeMMO, you can find a tutorial on how to download PokeMMO at the bottom of this post. Make sure to download both Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Emerald. Feel free to PM me if there is anything unclear, always available to help when I am online.
• Post a picture of your Trainer Card. Your PokeMMO account has to be newly created to give everyone an equal playing field.
• Collect and level Pokémon in-game. To see which one grant prizes see below.
• Only Pokémon catched by you yourself will be counted towards the competition.

HOW TO WIN POKÉMON MINIRANKS​

• - Play the game and level your starter Pokémon up to level 30. Post a screenshot of the relevant Pokémon summary in this thread.
  
  
• - Catch 6 Pokémon and level them up to 50; post a screenshot in this thread.
  
  
• - Level your starter Pokémon up to level 100. Post a screenshot of the relevant Pokémon summary in this thread.
  
  
• - Catching a Chansey; post a screenshot of the relevant Pokémon summary in this thread.
  
  
• - Catch a Rayquaza and post a recording of you obtaining Rayquaza.
  
  
• - Level a Milotic to level 100; post a screenshot of the relevant Pokémon summary in this thread.
  
  
• - Catch (not breed) the Pokémon with the highest total of IV* out of everyone. Your winning entry Pokemon, or one of its evolutions of your choice, will be your minirank prize. This prize will be available for the top 3 entries, a person can only win once.

* IV is a randomized stat that a Pokémon gets and which determines how strong a Pokémon is. The IV can range from 1-31. The IV's which your Pokémon has can be found in the Pokémon Summary.

1v1 Little Cup (LC) Tournament
Best out of three
Recording the entire battle is mandatory to avoid errors

Little Cup is a tournament where you can only use unevolved Pokémon and your unevolved Pokémon will be scaled down to level 5, click here for more information. Little Cup is chosen to let as many people as possible participate.

Note that evolved Pokémon can not be used. Any Pokémon in this list can be used.
People can improve their chances of winning prizes with the right strategy (breeding, held items, EV training), more information can be found here.


Date and Time
The Duel Tournament will start 17 days after the competition started, so 17th of July. Every duel has to take place within 4 days of announcing the duel through PM. The 4 days were chosen to speed the Duel Tournament up a bit more than by doing one duel a week.


Registration
The Duel Tournament will open for registrations the moment this thread is posted for two weeks, so till the 14th of July. During this time you can train and set-up your Pokémon team already. If you wish to join the Duel Tournament please fill in the following template:

How to start of a duel
You can start a duel by right-clicking your opponent, selecting "Duel" and then selecting the following settings:

Spoiler: Tutorial on how to download and play PokeMMO

To play PokeMMO you have to download the game and the ROMS separately, PokeMMO does not include the ROMS. The reason behind this is that if they were to include it, Nintendo could take legal actions againts them and shut the game down.

If you want to play the game, first download the client. You can do so here. After you have downloaded the client you should see something like this when opening the client:



If you see the above you're good so far.

Now you need to download both the Pokémon Fire Red ROM and the Pokémon Emerald ROM. The Fire Red ROM can be downloaded here and the Emerald ROM can be downloaded here. It is best to save them in the C:\ folder as that is the default map the client will open.

After you have downloaded both the client and the ROMS you need to connect the ROMS to the client. You can do so by clicking "Select File" and then selecting both the Fire Red ROM and the Emerald ROM. If you've done it correctly you should see a "Fire Red / Emerald has now been loaded" message when you connect the ROM to the client, if so you can now play the game. If not, please tell me at what step you're having trouble and I'll do my best to help you.

Haha, wouldnt have expected any less from you than getting your harsh feedback right away (just kidding <3). People can easily participate in the dueling-side of the event when just participating in the competition-side of the event. Also, in Europe (am not sure about other regions of the world) it is summer vacation right now, that is why I chose to hold the event this month.

The master ball is just an exclusive minirank with which you can show off that you are the #1 Pokémon trainer on Sythe. Dont forget that you'll also get $50 for placing #1 on the dueling side though!

 

Never played this game before, is it similar to pokemon crater?

 

Never played Pokémon Crater before. PokeMMO is basically Pokémon Fire Red + Pokémon Emerald, as a MMO.

Wow, what an event! I wish we could win some Pokemon minis here on Sythe without having to dedicate 5+ hours, similar to how other events have been done in the past. I know the $$ is a nice incentive on the battles end, but I love these Sythe events for the unique miniranks, not really for the chance to make a quick buck. Unfortunately it seems like the only mini we can really pick up after only dedicating around an hour or two is the pokedex .

That being said, thanks for putting this all together, I'm excited to try it! I'm always a fan of more Pokemon on Sythe!

To everyone entering the competition, make sure to post your username including a picture of your trainer card similar to how Gen did it.
Also the registrations for the duel tournament are opened as well for the next 14 days, so if you're interested in that feel free to register!

Also forgot to specifically state it, but you have to make a new account. You cant use an account for this event that already completed PokeMMO. The reason behind this is to create an equal playing feel for all participants. Included this in the OP as well.

Haha good to see that people without any Pokémon experience also enter the event You can give the rival in the game a name. Like in the anime the most popular rival is Gary to Ash. You will battle the rival multiple times throughout the game.
