No, it's all bannable now with a very high detection rate, people still use IRC to gamble though

Yeah, there are still lots of options for gambling in RS.

There are a bunch of dicing clans which operate in IRC: #dragondyce, #coradyce, #smgamble. Each has a different system, but generally you just query a host and you can bet on them.

Alternatively, there are online websites you can use to gamble on, which are much easier to use. Like win4fun mentioned, if you like poker, you can gamble on MMOPoker or RSGamble. I've a few mates that gamble through third party and none of them have been banned.

sorry, i should've stated third party, ingame gambling with spammers etc and a friends chat with hosts is bannable, my friend found an item to use for ingame gambling and got caught within a day, i also had an account permanently banned for gambling(advertising)
 
Its funny how some people seem to become addicted to gambling, as the person betting you generally have the odds stacked against you.

I suppose if you wanted to go double or nothing gambling would be a good outlet, but even then I would just rent a max staker and box my wealth for a chance of doubling it.

I think the great thing about alternative forms of gambling is the variety. There are many more options on how to gamble outside of the game. For example, roulette offers odds ranging from 1:2 to 1:36 - which can make it more thrilling for some players.

Secondly, of course, gambling isn't about "getting addicted" - it's about the community and having fun while you do it :)
