Bill Bellicheat is famous for doing these tiny little things (he use to plant listening devices by the other coaches so he can hear their plays, or something like that, I know he did it against the Jets). But this tiny little thing does not matter, the Pats would have won regardless.

I agree, I think Dallas would have beaten Seattle.

Not sure about New England though.

Dallas got robbed on that "Calvin Johnson" rule...even though that rule never should have applied because he took a good three steps after the catch.

Welp. Check front page ESPN...11/12 balls were deflated. This may be a bigger issue...partially from the lovely media that love to see chaos.

I guess certain people prefer footballs with different amounts of air.

I don't think this will DQ anyone...hopefully lol. Maybe take away a draft pick. You break a rule, you break a rule...Even if it may not think it directly benefits one team.

Edit: also I think the policy is after they are inspected they are given to the teams side...so idk. we'll see how this plays out. Obviously tiny bit of a bigger issue if teams are playing w/ different balls, no matter if colts are blown out or not.

It was just an example I was trying to use of more than just his teammates, owell. I have seen his teammates, specifically his OL, help him up numerous times.

    From the ESPN article http://espn.go.com/boston/story/_/i...had-inflated-footballs-afc-championship-game:

"Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became underinflated.

The game balls provided to each team for preparation were required to be inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff before they were returned to a ball attendant before the game."

Wonder how it happened then. Did the attendants fail to correctly inspect the balls? The officials are a bunch cobbled together from different officiating teams so that may be why. I find it odd though that teams bring their own balls, why does the NFL not simply provide the balls and have them under lock and key the whole time?

I still find it odd that the Colts noticed the ball when they touched it yet the referees didn't who handled both balls all game.

I don't think the Pats will lose any draft picks if they are found guilty and they certainly wouldn't be DQ'd, I assume there will be a fine of 500k - $1m.

They'd never have the balls to DQ anyone no matter how badly they cheated.

This is the same league that dilly-dallied with Ray Rice's punishment lol.

The Colts got clobbered cuz they suck not cuz of the balls.

I've heard that they supposedly discovered them and filled them up more at half time but not sure if that's true or hearsay.

If this is the case surely the Patriots had no knowledge of it because with the improperly inflated balls they were up and down but after half time the domination really turned on?

    Eh it's all idle speculation.

Couldn't be any further from the truth. Tom Brady is a class act and very well liked by his team.

I dont think the air in the ball would have made the colts score 30+ points more :p

Truth. One of the most well liked quarterbacks by those he plays with. The intensity and fire he plays with is unmatched by any other quarterback in the league and that's what your team mates want to see... You may have a point calling out someone like jay cutler or even cam newton, but no way in hell do you have any fucking clue what your talking about with Tom.

Well some science studies have proven that they could deflate due to the inclement weather. Funny how the Colts balls weren't measured alongside the Patriots ones. I've also seen an article by a previous ball boy who said sometimes they didn't even measure the balls as it would take up to an hour to do all of them.

At the end of the day I highly doubt any evidence incriminating the Patriots will be found but the damage is already done. I have to say that alongside the media and them running with a baseless story the owner, Rob Kraft, is to blame. He continues to take such a neutral standpoint, grow some balls and fight for your franchise.

If the Patriots win the Superbowl they'll be cheaters regardless if it's proven or not. If the Patriots lose the Superbowl it'll be because they were distracted by deflategate and they got what they deserved due to being cheaters once again, regardless if true or not. Absolutely deplorable.

Glad Bill Belichick just released that impromptu press statement. Listening to the full 22 min interview right now. Seems like this is the first rationale thing being said.

For my 2cents Blount scored 3 rushing touchdowns. He could've carried a beach ball. Also doesn't hurt we only gave up 7 points #inflatethis

Update: Investigation seems to have shifted to the NFL being at fault, rightly so. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/25/nfl-bears-plenty-of-blame-for-deflategate/

I fear the damage has already been done however and the pundits will still use this as their most recent excuse as to why they hate the Patriots (instead of just admitting they're jealous of the success New England has tasted of recent years).

Florio also wrote a piece on PFT (Can't be assed finding this one) where he states:
"But what has the NFL really found? As one league source has explained it to PFT, the football intercepted by Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson was roughly two pounds under the 12.5 PSI minimum. The other 10 balls that reportedly were two pounds under may have been, as the source explained it, closer to one pound below 12.5 PSI."

    Absolutely ridiculous.
