Not going lie... that's a very, very large part of the reason I do not want bots to come back any time soon. :D :p

Yeah, ages ago on the day of the emails I said Jagex got the info from PayPal. Everyone was like "you lie, that's illegal, they only give that info to the government", but now I have been proven right!

It was subpoenaed so it wasn't exactly like PayPal just handed them over.

Wow lol, now we know the lawsuit is real. And this is ridiculous. Nexus actually fucked with Jagex and now they are saying indirectly it is not wrong to bot? What did they signed up for in the first place? Lmao. I believe Jagex are not gonna bring down those charges that easily. You mess with the LAW, you taste the consequences. That is sad but true.

Breaking Jagex's ToS is not against the law.

If you are interested in a recent legal precedent established in california read the Case of Lori Drew who did a classic ToS break. The biggest penalty Jagex can enact on a ToS breaker is to ip ban them.

Jagex is clearly in the wrong on both of their suits against impsoft, provided that impsoft does not distribute any of Jagex's code or images in their product.

Furthermore, someone who bought an impsoft product that made use of copyrighted code is not liable in any way to Jagex.

The requests are a bit to high and wont get them all.
    I lol'd at G & H though;
G = make jagex send us another email saying sorry.
H = make jagex post a message on runescape.com and jagex.com saying sorry (message stays there for a year)

Gold farming was ruining the game you mean, botting in my opinion is perfectly acceptable. I don't want to spend 5 hours a day clicking on a tree or a rock just to have the level to click another tree or rock for another 5 hours.

I am with Pockets on this one. Their demands are way too lofty for them to succeed. I am sure they will have to go through several rounds of revisions before a court would hear them, because you can't order something that is implicitly against the ToS of a company. I am really excited about this court case though; I am studying to go into corporate law and this is the kind of thing I want to do. :D

Jmods have stated that they are looking into making the "grinding" aspects of the game more fun.

This is honestly a fantastic idea to focus on the 'grinding' aspect of the game instead of just outright banning and breaking zillions of bots. The goldfarmers still need to go, as they ruin the game for EVERYBODY, but bots will always come back and will always be around and so Jagex needs to start thinking of other solutions to these problems, this being a great place to start.

A very large portion of the botters out there are just casual Runescape players who can't be fucked to sit there hours of a day grinding boring repetitive activities in order to advance through the game. And to be in a position where you can have lots of fun in RS and participate in many of the most fun activities, you need to fill all sorts of requirements before you can get there, which forces everybody to partake in these activities to play the game whether they like them or not. For example, I am trying to get Turmoil on one of my accounts right now and am almost there. To achieve something like Turmoil, you need to spend countless hours grinding repetitive skills just to have the levels needed to meet the quest requirements.

Yes, it makes Turmoil a challenge that is only undertaken by the more 'elite' players in the game, but it is still boring as hell and most people would be encouraged to bot when they don't have the time required to sit there for dozens of hours just to achieve anything in RS.

Which leads me to my point - If Jagex focused more energy on tackling these sorts of issues alongside their bot-nuking campaign, I think it would be a great way to discourage the use of bots by encouraging players to achieve these skills legitimately by themselves. If they spice the game up a little bit and make it more fun for people to level their skills, my guess is that you would see a significant decline in the 'casual' botters, as people would be much more likely to want to train the skills up themselves and would get some sort of enjoyment and satisfaction from doing so.

Would be funny if Jagex had to pay a fine because they illegally obtained information.

Wow it would be a miracle if NeXus did win the case and their demands.
