Newest signatures

Currently just using GIMP Dont have much experience with GFX.
Used motion blur for the 3d effect cubism for the BG. any feedback is appreciated. I'm sure for experiences people this would only take a few minutes but it took me the later half of 30 minutes just messing around in gimp

The effects just before B make it look like it's inside a box. Otherwise, basic but nice

 

Try to round the edges of your letters

 

Use some other fonts man. There isnt just this one Your abarta isnt really clear. We cant read clearly the name. Try messing around with some other effects as I see you are using the same format for both (character on the right, same background effect, almost same font if not same, gradient, 3D). You should get used to photoshop before. GIMP is very limited and if you get used to that before photoshop, it will be hard. I would download the free version of photoshop (Photoshop CS2). This can be downloaded directly from Adobe website. Adjust the blending options of your text and find some other brushes.

 

Yeah I messed up when resizing it into 650x350

Did you mean with a different font or is there a way to do this after the text has been made?

Hey thanks for your advice, I know a couple people have told me just to dump gimp. so i'll probably do that before moving forward.

 

Transform it into a picture and not a text and you can erase and smudge the edges if you want to do that. But yea just use another font and it will be ok

Theres also another way you could do that (ish). You go in blending options, bevel and emboss. Put lots of depth but make it soften (alot) it will round up the text.

 

I like the first one, the second one not so much. Maybe more texture on the text for the first one. Nice work nevertheless!

keep it going man. try out photoshop, that will fix your problem with the pixelization on your letters(but i don't know gimp that well) or try razing your font size instead of transforming it to make it bigger. your skills will develop over time. also dont be afraid to spend a lot of time making your designs, i saw that you said it took you 30 mins. most of the time i spend 30min just concepting lol, ive spent 20+ hours on one design before, but you do become faster the more you design, especially once you learn the shortcuts

 

thanks for the tips, and to note my font sizes were raised to 200. I didnt resize after i made the font.
