Newest Idea

A RS client seems better, and I'd assume more widely used. I'm not sure how the development would work, and what languages one would need to know in order to create one. However, if a Sythe client was created, with great functionality and had a great kit, I could see it succeeding. I doubt it would be anywhere near as popular/used as swiftkit, but may be worth a try,

 

Well, those are the two idea's we have right now, obviously we will need more planning when it comes to it. If anyone else has any idea's they would like to add feel free and I will add it to the OP.

Why talk about a project that takes months to finish while you don't even know somebody that is willing to spend months of private time in this project.
Not even talking about knowledge required to do so yet.

 

Because it is still worth a try sometimes good things take time, and now we have a bot idea and a client idea both of which could be successful.

 

There are several, more than adequate clients and toolkits already on sythe/being developed by sythe users.

Basically the problem lies on being able to call something an "official sythe" client/bot/whatever.

 

Should probably make a client like SwiftSwitch and have a authorization system with sythe tokens/user and pass on forum.

 

Making a client isn't hard, but I don't know that it would bring much traffic.

 

As someone suggested, the client could be only used if you can login with Sythe forum login/password, then it would bring some traffic.

Also the tool kit could be developed up to players demands and well, as I don't really play Runescape anymore, I'm not familiar with the current kits, but the last time I used SwiftKit, I couldn't stand it, because of the fail to implement the right borders for the game window to not clash with the kit.

As well, are there any kits for 07RS? If there aren't, then maybe we could focus on it? The player base there seems pretty worthy of attracting it here.

 

SwiftSwitch was really famous and if every single one of them who used it had to register on sythe, sythe would gain much more popularity and increased activity

 

So basically we could have to make people register in order to use the client therefore bringing more members, and people maybe interested in more sections then. Even if we kept 10-15% of the people as members that still increasing members.

 

I highly doubt Richard wants anything to do with this if there is the slightest chance it will cause legal problems between him and Jagex.

 

One simple reason Sythe himself would not support this: if Jagex decides to go after bot makers again, Sythe would be in their scopes. There's too much legal trouble being a bot developer and I don't believe Sythe is interested in that.

 

Well, he wouldn't get in any legal trouble if he went with the client option.

If we had a client like swift kit that people had to download it would bring traffic to the site.

 

Oh you mean just making a client instead of a bot.

Yeah, that would work, however I doubt that many people would use it (apart of current Sythe users), as most would just stick with SwitftKit, unless we gave them a reason to change.

i'm all up for the idea and that of either a client or a bot...

there was a thread, it was a suggestion i seem to recall about having a section on sythe about 2007 prices... like the one on zybez...
people mentioned that it would bring 'hate' to the community, wouldn't a client be similar? i can't imagine d'bot bringing hate dough, my two cents, yhyhyhyh.

Sorry corey I wasn't specific well, If we made a client compatible for both it may give people a reason to change it's worth a shot.

 

Theres always a chance that they can code it with and update at anytime with a rat/virus.....This is something that people fear and its not hard from what i read to have a sleeper cell in a client happens with many bot clients/clients

 

You are talking about the admins on our site doing it etc, trusted people why would they rat it? They wouldn't.
