even if they don't read it, if they get scammed and complain we can just refer them over to the introductory thread (talking about the newly registered that get scammed). we can say "Wai u no reed thred"

Could be potentially a really good idea, but Delta's guide needs some improvement on presentation, to make it more pleasing and a bit nicer for them to attempt to read. Support.

You really need to cut out the spamming for postcount in the suggestions thing, it's not even funny, and you seem asif your time away has affected your spelling

 

A couple years ago when I joined the RuneScape clan Luna/Lunagang/Astra they already implemented stuff to make sure you read the topics. Add certain symbols in the text that the user has to find. All in all it makes a word that has to be entered somewhere.

Randomly generated for every user to avoid people "leaking" the word.

 

Yeah I don't see why you would need to increase your post count either..

Learn the market


First you need to establish what market you want to get into: be it leveling, skilling, questing, or gold merchanting.

Getting Started!

First things first, you need a thread! (obv.)
If you're confident with yourself, you can jump straight to charging, but if you're new to Sythe with no vouches, I advise starting off free.
Alright, so we are making our thread. First you'll want an Eye Catching Title, use some symbols, spice it up; grab the browsers

Now that you have a nice title, you'll need to do a layout. Now if you want you can fork over some money and have a professional layout, or you can opt for a text only layout while your services are free.

Make it eye popping, but don't make it look like a rainbow exploded in your room.

Getting your name out there!

This is probably one of the, if not the MOST, important section in this guide. There are many methods of getting your name out there, and advertising your services.
You have:
-Signature advertising (Includes your sig, and the renting of others signatures)
-Posting around the forums, especially the sections that your service are on, I.E if your skilling for RuneScape, mostly around in the RuneScape forums.

-Be a positive and polite person, returning customers will make up a good percentage of your clients. TRUST ME!

Signatures

Signatures are a great way to promote your business. You can even have it setup so that when people click your sig, it takes them to your thread! -- How bloody great is that?
From looking around on Sythe as you post you'll be able to tell what's a good sig and what’s a bad one, fork over a few bucks and get yourself a nice signature. It helps in the long run

Posting Around

The best way to advertise your service with your sig? Have posts in the section your thread pertains to! Does this mean spam every single page? NO! You'll get infracted and we don't want that. Just engage in it casually, provide input, help others with questions, heck, even post your own thread about ideas, questions, and the current state of the game.

Even advertise in your posts.

Conclusion
The harder you work, the better the outcome. Be legit, be involved, and you WILL be successful. Once you start charging for your services, have competitive prices (now, don't just undercut to say you have the cheapest service. Cheaper isn't always better, after all, the better your service, the more you can charge!!!!).

I Agree. As told on this thread before, most of the people will just throw it away as dust in the wind, however we should take the responsibility to help prevent scamming before it can happen.

Don't need to rewrite it. You can also just post bits of information that you think should be in it or what not.

 

The information should just be short and sweet to the point. Nothing about infractions and shit, you can just link them to the rules. Just safety tips.

 

Definitely support, that's pretty good idea, but I'm afraid of that some newcomers might just skip to market instead of reading it all :/

 

That's fine at least they were warned about the market and it's issues.

 

I like this. If we can get an AESTHETICALLY PLEASING set of guides together, they'll be used. I'm not happy with publishing walls of text.
