New sub section for Sfa

Rename it to debates, honestly.

As for the rules, I've just been given that additional section as well, and I'm enforcing them like Richard used to.

 

SFA seems to be entirely geared for debates, based on the SFA rules:

Not sure why a new subsection is entirely necessary. As for renaming it, "Something For All" sounds better than "Debates" but either way is fine imo.

 

Can't say I participate in SFA enough to voice an opinion on this, will support what the community wants

 

The name is really ambiguous. It would hopefully reduce the number of shitposts if it were named more appropriately. The section was called "Intelligent Discusssion/Mature Debate" on the Playerswap forum.

 

I don't think that educated discussion necessarily means debate and shouldn't be limited to that.

 

With the addition of a sub forum, activity would increase since intelligent threads that aren't really in debate format are thrown in General Discussion would be placed in SFA instead.

It would be difficult to moderate both types of threads in one section with the "strict rules" sticky in place, which is why I suggested a new section.

As others have stated, "intelligent discussion" isn't limited to debates.

Most threads created in General Discussion turn into debates, and most threads created in SFA are often moved to General Discussion because of the "strict rules" sticky. These threads are interchangeable and can go both ways. Wouldn't make much sense to keep these threads in separate forums.

The problem here is the "strict rules" sticky more than anything else.

 

I imagine the "strict rules" would need to be run past sythe himself to be amended, do you want to flick sythe a PM Ghast?

 

Just change it out from under him. I doubt he would care if it still keeps the quality of the posts high.
