Some of you may remember me from way back, most likely TDD and G3.
Anyway, here are some ones I've been doing lately. These are alot better than those shit ones I made last year, but still fairly bad. Both of the stocks were from DeviantArt, I'll put the links under each sig.

Hmm, number one is alright I suppose I think the smudging around the focal kinda makes it look like shit also there is almost no flow try and get everything going one way like the girl is looking up so have things going into that direction instead of behind it.

Number two is the best one outta your three but still is not very good, the black things on the sides make the sig look like shit when you actually look at it, way way way to many C4Ds I see in there. I can't stress this enough LET THE FOCAL STAND OUT, also unsharpen the places around the focal makes it look pretty gay :/

Number three don't know if you want it critiqued but whatever I'm going to. One word, ew... What the hell why did you smudge it so much then you like ugg I don't even know man. Try not to smudge so much color and leave it there (Blend)! Also did you like only sharpen the head? Big no no leave it clean! Make the background more appealing also try and work on text.

Here are some tutorials I gathered up:

Removed number 3, it was shit.
Anyway, I was pretty much told the exact opposite on Tech-Gfx by a guy called H.D., here's what he said:
number 1: The focal stands out too much, try to match the render with the bg.
number 2: this one is pretty decent, just remove the text and border
I did that, and he said "looks quite much better" (lol).

About your CnC, thanks, I tried to fix it up a bit. When you say there is no flow in number one, that's wrong, there is clearly a flow going to the top-right. I just thought it looked better than top-left, where she is looking.
And in the second one, the "Black things" you say are his wings on an Overlay.

But thanks anyway.

Oh that's his wings lol? Hm anyways Like I said again I really do not see any flow whats so ever after I looked over it a couple times the only I see that flows to the top right hand corner is the blue (C4D or Pen tool).

I'm not sure which one you're talking about the flow with, but on the second, there isn't really a flow. Except maybe upwards.
On the first, there was no real obvious flow apart from where she's looking, but the sig looked better with it all going right. I tried to smudge it a bit to follow the flow.. Kinda failed tho >.>

Not all sig's need "flow" its called contrast... I think it works very well with the second picture.

So for the first one - I have to say it looks somewhat dull to me, nothing really stands out which it should, even the render is dull, if anything that should stand out.

Second sig - I personally like what you did with it, I like how where he is looking (up) it clears up from the darkness around him, which adds good contrast to the sig. There may be a little bit to much darkness around him, but all in all its good.

Umm I have to beg to differ man, contrast can be one of the key points but for a great sig you have to have some sort of flow. But I have to agree with you on his first sig it is kind of dull :/. Second sig on the other hand it really isn't that great the more I look at it, the only GOOD thing is that he did in fact have some what a flow and contrast.
