New Section: Gold Swapping Services (07-RS3 and vice versa)

I could potentially support it, however I do have my concerns.

1. How would these sub-sections be structured? At the moment the gold exchange is perfect as it caters for the four possibilities:
   
   
   • Selling RS3 for 07
   • Buying RS3 for 07
   • Selling 07 for RS3
   • Buying 07 for RS3
   
   My concern is if you don't make all four sections it will be clustered and make live difficult for those looking to exchange, but if you make all four there probably isn't enough traffic to warrant them + you'll just get the same thread repeated multiple times.
   
   
2. Another concern which was briefly touched upon by Dave, was users re-creating their threads in the new sub-section. If implemented, I personally would only want to see RS3/07 swaps on said threads for the section - so that would mean you wouldn't be allowed to offer any other payment methods. This in turn should avoid users having, for example, one thread selling RS3 for PP/WU/07RSGP and another in the new section selling it for 07RSGP/PP/WU. This obviously would mean if someone wanted to buy/sell for RS3/07 + IRL currencies, they would have to make multiple threads - however I don't see any other solution.
   
   
3. The implementation of this, like you stated, would lead to an increase in the number of these gold exchange clans. I'm not 100% sure on the rules at the moment, but if a member of a clan was to scam and the clan didn't offer to refund the victim, (assuming there was enough proof) who would be held accountable on Sythe? Would the owners be held accountable or in the case there is no owner - who would be held responsible? Just stating this because, if there's an influx of these clans, a re-clarification of the rules is probably also needed.
   

 

Selling rs3 for rs07 is exactly the same as buying rs07 for rs3..
This would make 1 or 2 sections sufficient.
Personally I'd like 1 subforum, and clear rules as for what the person is offering/asking.

 

It'd just be Gold Swapping or something to that effect. It wouldn't be 4 subsections, or at least I hope not. I don't see how it'll be clustered if all the threads are 07 <> RS3. Exchanging is exchanging.

Good point. Hm... If the user has a Sythe, they're held responsible (presumably members would be listed in the thread with contact details). If they don't have a Sythe, the OP is held responsible? Regardless, I think allowing clan discussion, clan ranks etc will just bring in extra activity.



I was against this suggestion in it's original form, but coin swapping clans are becoming way more popular these days - I think it's important to follow trends and I think it could be a good way to get people to sign up.

• B) They'll make bank

Huge support, I thought about suggesting this during my ban, completely forgot about this idea. Alot of ppl ask me if I exchange gold where it clearly says I am. Support again!

Make 1 section and have people name their threads like this = 07 -> EoC and vice versa. People who have X and see X in the user's title, will know which threads to look for.

I think we can start of with just one section for cross trading. If there're too many we can split up in two sections:
- Eoc --> 07
- 07 --> Eoc

Yes, this would be beneficial. Only downside? Legit users would come, use this part and then report people's RSN's that also use the other sides of the RWT face of things.

 

I support this thread, and your post also makes sence. I understand what you mean when you state when people say you can use the gold exchange but take a look at this picture;



It's honestly quite hard to find an exchange thread and in certain situations i have to resort to asking every gold seller on skype if he exchanged.
Just making a sub thread with "gold exchange 07 <-> RS3" would make it alot easyer for not only me but everyone else looking to exchange

 

This would be great at bringing new users to Sythe that maybe just don't trust the people standing there in Runescape advertising that they swap.

Can easily be done with just one sub-section under the gold exchange as: Gold Swap

 

The other day I was actually looking for the gold swapping sub section because I thought it had already existed. It then took me awhile to find someone in the gold exchange section who would swap the gp for me. I would support adding in a rs3>07 swapping sub section added in to the gold exchange section.

 

The sections that would be appropriate are:

• RS3 Buying
• RS3 Selling
• RS07 Buying
• RS07 Selling
• RS Misc Trades

If you ask me that leaves our sections a big mess as everyone posts in a different section, though it is essentially the same thing!
To combat this, they will all post multiple threads, which is against the rules!

Best solution would be to create a new, specific sub-section for gold swapping!

 

Eh, you're right. IT also seems like the community really wants it, so I'll throw up a poll in SL. Not promising it'll pass but I'll throw up the idea.

I'll come back with a response soon (hopefully) but please keep the feedback/input coming!

 

There are tons of trading threads in all of the gold buying and selling sections, so I'd definitely recommend the adding of a trade section

or

RuneScape 07 : Rs3 Swapping ?

Or something else?

Not instantly it's just that the way I saw it was people already have this in their threads and it would be pointless but I guess I'm starting to see it from a different perspective now.

Yaroow showed me some of the benefits so I'm worth giving it a chance.

However I do apologize for not hearing you out initially, there was also less support at the time. This is indeed your idea as well.

That is mostly because there isn't a specific place to do this.
As long as there is a lot of money to be made and users are familiar with the concept, there will be activity.

However if your threads get burried by dozens of gold selling/buying threads...they'll stop soon enough!

 

Yadda yadda yadda support looks like it will make everything less of a hassle.
