wow, thats pathetic..who would think that up?

 

... It's atcaully really convincing. I thought that post made by the imposter was the real full tilt since he changed his location to 913 (real full's post count). At first glance, with the avatar set I thought it was full until I went back to confirm and looked at the rank.

 

Note, if an official middleman PM's you but he has no rank, is he really an official middleman?

If I PM you and my name isn't green, am I really PMing you?

If Annex PM's you and his name isn't yellow, is it really Annex?

It really isn't that complicated. Post count, join date, etc. That will also help out.

Since a 3rd party is used to host the ranks, I'd say that host is fucked ^^

In regards to everyone suggesting to everyone suggesting to check whether or not they are an official mm or not. I covered this with a suggestion of checking their ranks

If you take the right precautions as with any scamm your set, its just in the communities best interest to be on their guard because this scamm has turned the pm security/verification approach on its head.

 

Hahaha, the imposter of tilt almost scammed me sent me to a site were it tells you to put in your rs password and account name looked just like the rs (password change) page but I knew it wasnt a scamm and i got a free pick that looks cool (you are logged in as zezima) you could log in as anyone even if u didnt know the password lol

That makes matters worse, if the ranks aren't here anymore, people will just be confused even more, not considering they have already, but it just seems a bit different then normal; first, accounts for letters that look like the normal letters, then the hosting stuffed up? What next, Sythe down, and the entire community getting scammed? (Not that I'm saying anything, just know your letters and you'll be safe from most of these scams.

 

Sometimes the ranks are screwed up, or someone could put the official MM pic in their sig and that they are official MM. Newcomers or people not familiar with trading might get caught with this scam.

 

Don't worry, last I heard there is a plan to combat this, and for us members we just need to be extra careful.
