Add a checkbox for searching users

Currently, to search for user profiles, you have to click on the search bar and go to more



This takes you to a separate page, where you then click on users



Normally when I use the search bar, it's to search for a profile, and I think a lot of people are the same way. So it is a bit much to go through this when it could just as easily be added along with the default search. I'd suggest checkboxes that filter searches between posts and user profiles, but anything that would make this easier would be appreciated.

You can also just enter the username in the search bar. Posts and his profile will eventually show up. Either that or search for posts made by the user and get to his profile that way.

 

This is a kind of iffy thing. I don't support on the basis that you DO know how to do it since its not that much work. I could support tho for the people who DON'T know this exists.

 

You're right, it isn't hard to do. It's just that the inconvenience is unnecessary for something that can be easily resolved, and it's odd that it isn't there to begin with. It's bothersome to be redirected to another page before you can search for users, rather than just being able to select it on the drop-down.

And yeah, I don't think a lot of people are even aware of this. Maybe because it's HIDDEN FOR NO REASON.

 

I was doing that for a long time a/w before I found out about this. Implementing it as a default would make it much less of a hassle.

I support this. Can't speak for others, but 95% of my search bar usage is to look up another user; it makes no sense to not have the functionality directly with the bar.
