New iPad Clones with Android 2.2 / Windows 7

Just released in SZ (China). New iPad clones run Android 2.2 / Windows 7 with "decent" hardware equal to iPad, supporting Flash 10.1 and multitasking.

8" Android 2.2 aPad - 1GHz Cortex A8 Processor - 512MB DDR2

10.1" Windows 7 ePad - 1.66GHz Atom N455 - 2GB DDR3 - 32GB SSD

Any reviews, discussion on those? I have laid my money down and waiting for the courier to show up. Been burnt before and not holding my breath, but as an ebook reader and wifi surfer?

 

Saw a post about the knock offs on Gizmodo, but personally I think this new Samsung Galaxy Tablet was Pretty nifty

Thats good! i love android, hate apple os. Allows for no user freedom, unlike android's open ended os

 

The aPad's aren't THAT new, but hey.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago, for £75/$120 and I strongly recommend you don't buy one. I sent mine back for a refund yesterday.

- The internet connection is shocking. Hardly ever connects and when it does, it's super slow.
- The whole thing feels cheap and plasticy, especially the screen
- Screen came with a huge irremovable finger print - kind of like when you press down really hard on a screen with your thumb. That blurry look? Yeah, one of those right in the middle of the screen.
- Battery life is horrible
- The device gets really hot even when you aren't using it
- Seemingly no lock button, you have to wait for the screen to go off
- 256MB internal memory; you have to buy a separate SD card.
- Hardly any apps, comes with android app market but it's a dodgey one with a VERY limited selection, most of which are chinese
- Whole device laggs like crazy constantly
- Video payback (Even that saved on your device, not streaming) is in terrible quality with an even worse FPS.


I could go on all day.. Moral of the story, avoid these vile creations at all costs.
