I feel that the new high pardon process is unfair. Some pardons are being ignored. It seems that no staff members are taking the time to look into their bans and give their feedback. So in 2 days the pardon is closed and the person ends up being denied for no reason other then no staff members took the time to review their case.

That's just my opinion.

Its been revised to 7 days. And if no one is posting, then it simply means they have no support. If I feel strongly one way or another, then I post. If I simply do not support it, then I don't post. I imagine it is the same for other mods, and if such is the case then it means the user didn't deserve one.

I've recently seen this, but sometimes if the user inst popular, only 2 mods will post. I saw a thread being supported by 2 mods and then no one else came in. That seems a bit unfair

High pardons are not meant to be fair. Thay are a way for exceptional members who have made a mistake to have a shot at coming back. 95% of the pardons should not be accepted, because the sad fact is that most do not deserve it. Its not meant to be a second chance for everyone who posts.

7 days sounds more fair but I still think mods should post and say no support if they have reviewed the persons case so it does not seem like they are being ignored.

Yes this is partially what I am talking about it seems like this new process only benefits people who are known in the community and or have friends on staff and yes I know it is ultimately the admins choice but still unpopular members seem to be some what ignored.

So, in other words...

If there are Staff in place and they don't know User A but they know User B, then User B will be shown more attention than User A? So, in all, Sythe is indeed becoming more and more a popularity contest. It's challenging users to get known by the Staff and become friends with them.

Now, I'm not saying this will always be true necessarily, but for the most part from what I can see, it is. Also, there may be a strong bias against User A from one Staff Member, but not one from any others as no one knows them. Their ban reason may have not even been warrented, but the fact that one Staff Member may post their word of disapproval, most others will follow.

There are certainly flaws in many systems, such as the High Pardon Process, but given the circumstances, some things are nearly impossible to fix (how does one remove opinion(s) from their entire thought process?).

Interesting thread.

If pardons aren't denied @ a 97% rate, then we are doing it wrong.

What if the Mod just feels lazy and does not want to post, because they don't know the person.
I mean the popular dudes who are best buddies with some mods are having an advantage. How is that fair, it is not professional in any way. Both Users may be eligible for a high pardon. Could have committed the same offense. But just because one of them is a friend with 5 + mods, they'll get strong answers/feedback/support while the other one gets "pity" support from a onlooking Mods.

I find that to be unfair and unprofessional. It is merely a popularity contest as Alex just said above.

Heres what i think, for every Mod that comes in to support it should be extended for an extra "x" amount of days.

Not meant to be fair? So you want the whole pardon system to be biased? Until the thread is updated - pardons are for members who the staff "believe are of some value to the community". Not exceptional members who got away with scamming or any ban able offence. They way you're thinking is, get away scamming or any banable offence, make friends with the staff, get caught or confess, make a pardon, staff support it since they know you, unbanned.

How would you like it if you were caught the day you self vouched and banned. Then when you make your pardon it's auto denied because nobody knows you?

The first paragraph is exactly what I'm trying to say.

Ill decline to comment any further, as I am just explaining the system as it seems to be described in the SL. Ill let Finn handle it, as he can best explain his vision and stipulations regarding the system. I think there is some discrepancy between how the system is described in its respective forum, and how it has been described in the SL, hopefully that can be clarified.

This message is hidden because cosrob97 is on your ignore list.

Sorry, done addressing your trolls.

the high pardon system seriously need to be revised and new things implemented to it... so that us users dont think that it is a popularity contest!

i personally believe that all if not 50% of the staff should post or input on a high pardon... Not ignore because they dont care.
