I hate to point it out but... "Although I am new, I will not be going first due to wanting to gain a reputation for myself" doesn't quite fit in this kind of market.

The new guy usually would go first if he wants to make a reputation (as a buyer who pays well).
Sellers would be the ones who will go in increments for you so YOU feel safer.

It's highly unlikely anyone will go first to you unfortunately.
