New Bonfire thing

How different is this new bonfire thing in terms of speed, and how does it compare to burning curly roots at the Jadinko lair??

I have 99 FM banked in maple logs, and I was planning on burning enough maples to get 83 firemaking, then using the rest for fletching so that I could go to the Jadinko lair and burn curly roots until 99. If these bonfires are easier/faster, then perhaps I will just burn all my maples to 99 instead.

 

to me its a pretty good update,gonna make fm way easier to train,it was a pain in the ass before.

 

Aparentely Bon fires are fast, you earn more exp per log per more people on the bonfire. It has also turned fm into cooking, in making it very similiar in what you do.

 

Seems like this can be easily abused by bots. It would be a very simple script to make and if you get a lot of bots at a specific location they can use the xp bonus to their advantage.

 

Are there certain spots where bonfires can be created and burned, or can they be made in the middle of the streets like previous single fires could?

I am just glad they have done something about firemaking. You have to admit that in the past, firemaking was one of the oddest things in Runescape... seeing those longs lines of burning fires in the middle of the Grand Exchange, city streets, etc.

 

Not really a fan of this update knowing how much time and effort I put into getting 99FM legit. But I guess if they're looking to make the game easier, they've definitely done that.

Mining, Runecrafting and Firemaking, I wonder what's next on their list. AFKable dungeoneering?

 

There are shedloads of them on the sw part of GE normally. Another place to potentially check is Rogues Den?

 

Where are the bonfires?

 

Yeah, it pissed me off slightly also. Mainly just fm. I think they are going to expand all levels up to 120 tbh, because xp is becoming so easy to get.

 

it's just the name of the fire you make with a log and a tinderbox
you can do it wherever you can do a normal fire

 

FM'ing with bonfire is a lot slower than regular FM. It's nothing like ivy or runespan xp in terms of Xp gain.

Side Note: Ironic how so many people complain about AFK skills when they bot these skills on their accounts.
