My account was stolen and banned

Hello,

The first account that I created here, Darkarmor7, was stolen and banned for scamming someone. I found this out about 2 months ago and private messaged an administrator at the time. I feel that it will be easier to explain the entire situation by pasting the first message I sent to him about, as I only knew that my account was stolen for a few minutes at the time so everything that I wanted to say was still fresh in my brain.

"I just made a GREUSOME discovery. My first account that I ever made on this website on December 24th 2007 was hacked and banned for most likely scamming someone. I recently came back to sythe a few months ago looking to buy some gold, but I found out that I was unable to login to my account. I figured I just forgot the password so I tried to send a recovery request. The email was never sent to my email and this baffled me (although it makes sense now, the account hijacker changed it). I was completely sure I used this one email to register my account because it was the only email I ever used to register on forums. Realizing that there was no way to access my old account I made this new one. I was "ticked off" at the time because I couldn't access my first account.

Not even 5 minutes ago I searched "posts by user" on the forum with my old username and was SHOCKED to find out that someone had stolen my account and was using it to sell ikov gold and other things like that. I have never sold any gold for any game in my entire life, only bought a few times. Looking back through the posts it seems that the hijacker/hacker only used my account for one day. This is a good thing I suppose but it is still way too much. Apparently in this one day he scammed someone and got my account banned, so I'm glad the mods here crack down on stuff like that.

I don't even know what to say, I was just so surprised to click on the search that brought up the post showing my account banned. The avatar was different too, which freaks me out because it's like someone stole my identity and changed it. My previous avatar was from a thread that an administrator made in the spam forum I believe, around January-February 2008. Everyone who posted in the thread had their avatar changed to some rocker dude with white face paint.

I'm not sure what can be done about this, can you please help me out (admin name)? I'm not sure if you're able to check IP addresses or not, or what can be done. If I could get my account back that'd be nice, but if you can't do anything I understand. If nothing can be done then I will just continue to use this account.

After a few messages exchanged back and forth, the admin told me to post a topic in the request a pardon forum. ( I previously did not know of any such forums, which is why I messaged him). I feel like my situation is more appropriate for this section, since I didn't personally do anything wrong (other than being irresponsible and not changing my passwords frequent enough/ having the same password for multiple sites). During this conversation, the admin told me that I was also "ban evading", although I had no idea I was even banned in the first place. I thought I had simply forgotten my password or something of that nature.

I hope I explained everything well enough, I've been putting of creating this topic for about 2 months, but I felt it was finally time. I think that I have seen other topics where people have reported their accounts being stolen and then used to scam too. If I need to answer any more questions/ provide any more details I am happy to do so.

I can also provide proof that I have used the name "Darkarmor7" before the creation date of the account.
