hi,

i got back not too long ago and need help with my stats. I have 80 Hp, 75 attack, 80 str, 85 range, 52 pray and 85 magic. Basically i need someone to use the combat calculator its confusing me a little.

I basically just want to know what level should i get a stat to so i have a better chance at pking, im level 77 and im getting slapped by people my level even tho i run ags. Most of them have 90+ str/range.

My goal is to have the best stats but be low level, i dont want to be over 79+ where i have to fight dhers or accounts that have 3 99s

im not 100% sure but i think i can get 99 range without level... but if i do this hp will level which causes me to level combat.

thanks for your help.

Hi Beyond,

The thing is, you have very "equal" levels, which is good for PvM'ing or doing slayer overall. If we're talking about PK'ing, you don't have good stats. Only if you'd challenge someone for a Hybrid fight (Range/Melee) you'd stand a good chance.

The guys who you fight in wilderness usually make their accounts based on Pking, they will have 31 prayer (to decrease combat level) and won't use any valuables like you do, for example with AGS. Those guys also usually only have 60 attack, once again, to decrease their combat level. Then they want something high in order to hit high frequently, which most likely will be strength. Probably around 90. That's why you're getting clapped pretty easily.

You have a good build, the thing is; you need a main stat which you pk with. My advice would be: go for the melee build, remain 75 attack and get 90 strength and don't use any range unless you're msb/ags'ing.

Also: practice makes perfect.

Good luck!

The most important thing to know when looking to maximize the effectiveness of a pking account is that attack + str = 1.5 * range/mage for a balanced build.

So, in your case, 75 atk + 80 str = 155 = 1.5 * range/mage --> range/mage ~ 103, meaning that you can actually level up to 99 in both skills without gaining any combat levels. Past 148 combined attack and strength, an account will be melee based, meaning that only leveling up those stats (and hp and pray) will result in additional combat levels.

I would recommend maxing out your range and getting 85/90+ strength before pking again. At these points, you'll be around 81/83 combat and will be fighting against other maxed pures, voiders, and low-level zerkers. You should honestly do fine, you don't start fighting against dhers until higher levels. It also would have been better to stay 43/44 pray as well as smite is hardly used in edge fights, but the difference isn't that extreme. Good luck with your account.

meteor thanks for the help,

i want to be low combat as possible but still have good stats. i was thinking of doing this, since i know hp will make me level up, what if i get 95 range and 90 str. Do i have to take into consideration that my hp level as well, because i used a calculator and it says that if my hp goes up by 1 level, it takes 1 less str level to level which is bad?? or this doesn't matter?

So at this point, ur saying if i get 99 range and altleast 85 str i should be good? then i can get 99 str whenever i want depending on if i want to be higher level right?

What if i train range to 90 so that my hp doesnt level as much, and then get 85 str? will this work?? the hp thing is just confusing the fk out of me sorry

I was trying to get the have an account where if i had ags (75 attack) and a specific str level, i could clapp other people.

tip.it still has a relatively easy to use combat calc if you need one, I would suggest keeping your stre the same for now. You're still able to max out range, only getting combat from the minimal hp levels you'll get.

ya exactly, so u do u think i should just get 90+ range and then i shud be good, i won't level at all because those 10 levels from 85-95 range should cover the 4 hp levels that will make me level. zapdoze what would u do, btw dont u think 80 str is a bit low? or is it reasonable, according to max hit calc i can hit 59 i think?

(After reading through your post I realized that I made some errors when doing some of the calculations in my earlier post, so I've just edited it for clarity.)

Yes, you need to take into account how much your hp level will increase by when thinking about training your str and range (and maybe mage, if you do something like bursting), unless you go out of your way to use a method that doesn't give hp xp, which I wouldn't recommend. I'll list out some possible builds and their combat levels just for reference:

75 atk - 85 str - 85 range - 82 hp: 79 combat
75 atk - 85 str - 90 range - 84 hp: 79 combat
75 atk - 85 str - 95 range - 87 hp: 80 combat
75 atk - 85 str - 99 range - 90 hp: 81 combat

75 atk - 90 str - 85 range - 84 hp: 81 combat
75 atk - 90 str - 90 range - 86 hp: 81 combat
75 atk - 90 str - 95 range - 89 hp: 82 combat
75 atk - 90 str - 99 range - 91 hp: 83 combat

Little hard to understand maybe, but you can see how leveling up your range does not affect your combat level that much as the range levels themselves do not matter, only the hp levels gained from training them do. This is in contrast with training str, where both the str levels and hp levels gained will affect your combat level as your account is melee based. Hopefully this makes sense, and all of my calculations were right.
