NEED HELP... Programming help or something... Cheese police is freaking dead

Ok so I ran his little CBot just to see what it was..

Didn't do anything.. Until today when I restarted because I was installing something..


Now I can only get on what is on my start up list (AIM - opens up aol homepage so I can get into a browser)

Thats IT

No task manager

NO desktop icons

NO START button

HELP!!!!!!!



I started in safemode and looked in the registry for 'cbot' and deleted them all and there's no trace of it left, but I cant get into task manager not in safemode to see what is running.


Oh btw im running vista ultimate

 

Install XP, and I can help you. Oh wait, that would solve the problem.

 

If you still have the CD, reformat.

 

I have a bunch of shit on here that I haven't pulled onto my external HD yet

 

Load up with a live linux cd, and transfer all your shit. Then reformat.

i could try making a program to pull up a drive for you?

like its probly set some access rights so you can't access it, i might just be able to open the drive voiding those rights.

 

did cp give you a program and say it was for something else or what?

Ah, something like that happened to me before, except I had access to my task manager. You should try installing Service Pack 2 (even if you have it). If that doesn't work, my only other suggestion is a reformat.

 

well i've got 3 programs for you to try.
1 just tries accessing the explorer or task manager.
the other 2 weren't made by me but are basically custom built task managers.

however i'm not sure how vista compatible they are.
