Need help choosing my first tattoo

Tattoos aren't cool anymore. I realised that when the skinny swagphag next door came out with one. They are too common and go out of fashion now. About that last line you wrote, don't just pick one because you "can't think of anything better" you will regret that very soon. Imagine paying a lot for a necklace or watch that you decide doesn't look good anymore after 6 months, except this time it's marked on your body for life.

 

what about like a fist with like 4 words that mean something to you on each finger.

 

Nowadays tattoos aren't such a big part in a job. My old schoolteacher had a tattoo on her hand and her leg that were always on show, my girlfriend has a tattoo on her hand and her forearm and has never had a problem applying anywhere, including as a receptionist. Unless you're planning on being in the police or perhaps a banker or something, I wouldn't worry about not getting a job, everyone and their granny has a tattoo nowadays.

My advice is waiting until you know for definite it means something to you. Ya, it doesn't need to mean something to get it- but at least if it loses some aesthetic value (most spur of the moment tattoos do) it still has personal value.

I would avoid tribal. I don't know about where you live, but where I live it's very tacky and an obvious first tattoo that everyone gets.


A family coat of arms can look badass, depending on what yours looks like. Especially if you have a family crest motto or clan motto.

 

Build up a wicked sleeve which has a meaning maybe? Go round and speak to your family and build it up to do with something that has everyone related to you in it a little something for everyone!

 

I know the consequences and how it will affect my life, with that being said I'm not getting a sleeve. Not getting any tats with color. Most likely going to go along with the mask idea, just need to get a good picture for it.
