Why do you kids drop thousands of dollars on the ground to give to other people?

I am making this thread after watching this video:

This guy made 200B+ GP.. then at the end he drops it... I see shit like this all the time. just Why? Why guys?


I am currently 21, struggling in a small apartment with my wife...combined we make $2,000 a month paying student loans and other bills

I see you kids making TONS AND TONS of GP on Runescape.. only to drop it at drop parties....

First lets do some math.. 10m GP goes for ~$8-9 correct? easily sold on playerauctions.

This guy made 200B. 200 billion / 10 million = twenty thousand
twenty thousand * $8.50 = $170,000 U.S. dollars

So this guy made $170,000 in what? two weeks? oh but wait... he gave it away

So you mean to tell me if you had a 2012 Nissan GTR + a 1996 Toyota Supra twin turbo decked out PAID IN FULL. you would give it away to someone you dont know shouting "OMG DROP PLEASE YAY DROP PARTY"

Will someone please explain to me why people would take colorful party hats on a 3D MMO rather than a car, home, college fund, hookers, w/e you desire?

Who cares if it was glitches? Back in RSC, when I used autorune to dupe phats, if they were worth money at the time I would of sold them like crazy for real life money.. not frigan drop em) No matter if you get GP from botting, glitching, etc, WHY do you kids give it away?

 

Well, if he made that in 2 weeks. Imagine what he could scam/make in two weeks after dropping 200b on runescape.

It's like those "money doublers" who spend like 500m rsgp only to turn around and scam a profit of 1b+

 

Lol, thats not real. He's not giving away anything. The download most likely has a virus in it and he will get your account information.

And the answer is always more money. These people drop to get viewers/followers/reputation, and that translates into more RSGP/whatever...

 

Yea, I removed the video.. im not sure who is dumb enough to download his "program".. anyways the point is not about bugging.. its just about runescape players who have billions of GP but choose to have it in-game rather than in real life..

And yes, I still lurk here I rarely post, nor do I play RS since Runescape Classic died... I guess I am an oldie now

You also need to remember. Drop parties, giveaways, etc. Always lure in more people.

As far as youtube giveaways, that gains you subs + views on your vids. For youtube partners, that equates to real life $$. That's why some people do giveaways via YT.

As far as drops ingame, some flower clans like to drop/giveaway to get their name out which in return gets them more bets and brings them more money.

 

This ^. Dropping bils in turn to get famous. In the end, you always make more than you drop. People will see that if they gamble with you, you'll have more money to 'Drop.' Although h/c is a 4:3 Odds in the hosts favor. So, in turn, making more money for the host either way.

 

Intrinsic value.

Some people play to enjoy the game, and not to make money IRL. Although, the large lump-some of rich/famous stakers on Runescape all RWT. Some here on Sythe, as well.

 

i didnt see him drop anything at the end, but that guy rwt's, he doesnt just keep it. all the big stakers rwt, who wouldn't?

 

1. Sometimes, when they make so much, they just want to give some back to the community.
2. Makes them Youtube money
3. To cover their tracks for RWT (sometimes those giveaways are fake, they are just giving them to the people who bought off of them or to make their rwts look more legit by doing some real giveaways).
4. To promote dice clans to make them even more money
5. Fake Giveaways to make them look nice/earn them more money from dicing/youtube
6. Some people believe in karma.

that's about all I could think of.


But all of the big dicers/stakers rwt sooo....

 

I have never understood drop parties either. But this thread has shone some light on the idea of publicity, eventually leading to more money? Makes sense!

The kid does drop parties to lure in more people to take their money away from them. That is what he is doing in simplest terms. I host games such as frostybflower and hot / cold and my bank is close to 500m. This only took me about 4 weeks and i plan to have a bill by the end of the summer. I can make any were from 10m to 100m (made 102m 2 days ago) each day i host. And i am also hosting non-ranked if i was ranked i could make 100m+ each day abd just keep profiting.

 

I've never been able to exceed a single party hat in the game.
Some people are just better equipped and more patient to make this money.

Yah I agree with you somewhat. I would keep a couple bil but sell the rest. Just like the other said, it can make you money with youtube subscribers and getting your dicing clan known

 

Have to agree with you there why would kids give away that much money when they could sell it on here or playerauctions. Plus imagine if their parents found out they gave away $170,000 . I know my parents would kill me .

OT: Some people either CBF'ed RWTing all of the GP or simply don't do it due to morals, etc. Personally I would if I had that much..

 

Most big drop parties I've seen where never just for the hell of it. They where from a big youtuber who is promoting his channel, asking for likes or favorites or dyce clans that makes bills upon bills a day who host drop parties in hopes of gaining new "customers" in there clan chat.
