Need assist setting up my VPS

Have come to the part where im logging in trough VNC viewer, but when i logg in there the screen i get up iss grey, and only option i have is 3 boxes wich says:

[] Accept clipboard from viewers
[] Send clipboard to viewers
[] Send primary selection to viewers.

I have never tryed this before, so I have no idee what i did wrong since I'm not getting it up as it should be, ref this guide: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=977316

If anyone would be so kind to assist me either add me, or assist me trough this thread. Any help is very apreciated.

What company are you using? Most VPS services have guides on how to set up your vps, if you search around their website.

Im using photon vps.

 

I don't need a guide to set it up again, as i have that, I have no clue on how to fix or start the whole prosess over again, as my experience with linux = none.

 

Looks like this, but it shouldn't do that, should see the desktop with the files i've installed while using putty.

Make sure you editted the startxfce part properly.

 

I just tryed to do so, and still the same thing when opening vnc.

 

try openining another vncserver and connect via vnc. replace :1 with :2, eg 121.000.21.03:02

 

would I need to start the whole prossess over again then? as in installing all the things I need, as java, firefox etc.

Couse did what you said above here, but only did the process from the vncserver part.

 

no, it's just a new vnc session.

Try killing all vnc process in vePortal and try again...

 

I made it now, skipped a part the first two attempts.

 

Only need to install rsbuddy now, wich i have no clue on how to do hehe.

there is part about RSBuddy installation.

replace RSBuddy-131.jar with RSBbbdy-142.jar (current version)

 

I managed it my self actually, just by opening their site. and downloaded and saved to desktop. Just need to unzip now.

hehe, no need, made it with the help from gamesman99, hes link on how to download + install rsbuddy was easier then urs.
