Slayering 99 Strength

How long would 30-99 strength take doing slayer tasks?

 

I'm going to assume you're using prayer against your tasks?

It could take a while seeing as some tasks are going to be crap XP and some tasks are nearly impossible for pures to do properly. What you might want to do is make a bit of money from slayer then then go to bandits alternatively. With your current method I could see it taking anywhere up to a month/ month and a half depending on hours played.

 

It's really hard to say because there is not much research done with 1-def pures and Slayer. Assuming you're always using protect prayers and using a nice Slayer master like Duradel, you can probably average around 40-65k exp/hr in strength with a Black Mask on. Again, it depends largely on the task. That's anywhere from 200-325 hours.

Nevermind... without summoning, you probably won't get 100 Combat and can't use Duradel. Since you're basically going to have to stick with Chaeldar for the majority of your slaying time, it's probably more like 35-45k exp/hr in Strength, and that's if you're lucky. The skill is surprisingly poorly constructed for low-level Slayers. You get shitty grinding tasks and too few numbers for it to be worthwhile unless you are using either Duradel or Kuradal. Another disadvantage with this is that you can't use NPC Contact, which means you'll need to spend 2-3 extra minutes after each task to get a new assignment. This might not seem like much, but Chaeldar's tasks only last 20-30 minutes anyway.... so that's a nice 10% reduction in efficiency.

BSGPSeller is probably right... your best bet is a different monster like bandits.

 

I heard they're very crowded because alot of people train their pures there? Would Pest Control be a good idea?

 

Bandits are fairly crowded (especially with the Hati Paws), but normally you can eventually find a good world if you hop through about 10 of them. Pest Control isn't really advisable because you have to pay a lot of attention and the EXP/hr works out to be around 40k/hr without any added HP exp to make up for it.

If you don't want to try Slayer, you can really do any of the slayer monsters without worrying about them as a task. I just looked up the Black Mask, and you can't even use it until 10 def anyway, so there's no real point in doing Slayer unless you really wanted the levels. The Stronghold of Security also has some good monsters to train on, both suitable for a 1-def pure and for mains (which you can pray melee to fight).

There are also the old pure standbys: Experiments and Rock Crabs.

 

Any idea if there are any monsters that pile you?

 

Slayer on a pure is difficult and not practical. An afk'ble way to train melee with your stats is flesh crawlers to 70 strength and then giant spiders at the stronghold of security to 99. Pray melee at spiders and always have a RoL on. You will probably spend ~20m in pray pots at spiders. Lesser if using combat pots too.


Edit: Monkey skeles with spec restores, pray pots, dragon 2h (aka 60 attack), super sets and a d scim will give over 80k experience p/h at 70 strength. at 99 strength, you can achieve 165k exp p/h with maxed gear and prayer so expect 130k-140k exp p/h at 98 str as a pure.

Yes. Flesh crawlers do pile you for about 20 minutes. Same with giant spiders and monkey skeletons.
