I am currently working on a client for all games using hl.exe (not important) I know how to open a search for the hl.exe itself but it would be nice if the user did not have to go back and select the location for his/her game.

Putting this within a button opens a search screen inside the following computer and launches the game when they click hl.exe.

    Shell("explorer C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\example\counter-strike\")

I'm looking for a way to save the location and launch it independently afterwards.

Any help is fine, and for more information just ask.

Make a settings file. Look up on Google how to create text files or INI files then create different settings blocks for each game that the person wants to load.

Just FYI, this can be done far easier in VB.net since every EXE project and WPF application project includes a built-in settings system.
