Need a laptop, help appreciated

Hi all, i've been meaning to get a laptop.

Budget: around $1350 or £1000.

Things i do:
Browse the internet / watch youtube
Program/code
Play Runescape

Things i need:
Supports windows
Not too large or heavy, need it to fit in a backpack.
Decent speakers & screen


Can anyone recommend me something, or point me in the right direction?
What make is best nowadays, etc? Should i get a 'gaming laptop'?

I'm using a Latitude E6440 i7 processor and windows 7 it cost me $100 bucks on ebay bidding and it works perfectly even has a gpu. Everything is decent the screen not to heavy or light and can fit in a backpack.

I got a 'gaming laptop' type laptop. It has the 2GB NVIDIA GTX 1050. It handles HD RS3 with no issues.

HP removed this specific build from their store after I bought it, but it cost around £800 GBP.

 

For what you need, you really don't require that kind of budget. I'm currently using a refurbished ThinkPad T410 - it's chunky, durable, classic, quite powerful for what you need and, best of all, isn't designed to break (unlike MacBooks and all of the Mac-wannabe's which are literally engineered to break). This kind of laptop is also perfect for programming too: the keyboard is kind of mechanical, each key-press feels more 'certain' and intended, if that makes sense, compared to what a chiclet keyboard can offer. It even has a fingerprint scanner for logging in or accessing an encrypted hard-drive. The hardware is designed to be accessible, great for upgrading the RAM, hard-drive, etc.

I literally swear by this machine; if you have any sense, you won't go for one of those super-skinny laptops that are engineered to be expendable piles of rip-off junk.
