Not allowed to have gold threads when you work for sites?

Right, so i'm wondering what the whole issue is with this.


I own my own stock (from services + buying on other sites from my own money not the sites) and my money isn't anything to do with the website I work with.


I can have them confirm that it isn't their gold etc, so why would it be an issue to sell it here?

 

As long as it's your own personal business, with no correlation to the main business you work for, i think you should be fine

 

According to @Dunworry it's a whole different story, I work for @_Ace_ so he told me I cant sell my own gold? lol, more than happy to have Ace confirm it's not the websites too.

 

Damn that's weird. I only said what i said before because im good friends with @Eut and i remembered him selling gold on his own while working for pete. But i found the thread - http://www.sythe.org/threads/selling-400m-07-1-2-m.1944681/ - and turns out it got locked as well so i guess im assuming its not allowed. I'm sure youd be able to sell through skype, or possibly on a different forum?

 

yeah it's extremely odd. I have it up on other websites too, but of course Sythe has a giant traffic =]

 

You aren't allowed a 2nd gold thread if you work for a site for obvious reasons.

 

There is no real obvious reason if it's my own gold not the websites.

 

I'm sure you could imagine what this section would look like if all gold shops decided to have all of their workers sell their *personal* gold here?

 

Not sure why you're putting it in brackets, when it's clear that I am not selling my sites gold. I mean considering I run services offsite, and I also buy/sell gold offsite (well used to until like a week ago) I think it's quite obvious.

 

Sure man. The rule isn't going to change though, for obvious reasons as I said.

 

You put it across like i'm actually trying to sell my websites gold, when I could happily get them to confirm otherwise.

 

Again, perhaps you aren't selling your websites gold, but it is easier to enforce the rule when nobody is allowed to do so instead of having people prove their selling their own gold. You can go and try making a suggestion, but it will be denied.

 

I didn't ask for it to be a suggestion or that it should be lifted, please read the OP as you seem to be having trouble.

 

Yeah I see where Pure's coming from, would be a bitch to do this on a case by case basis. If it's a big issue could you not advertise the other websites gold?

 

I am on other websites too, just simply asking enquiring about it. It's a bit odd to not let us actually sell our own stuff after all.

 

Don't understand the salt, all I'm saying is it's a rule and if you'd like to bypass that rule you'd need to make a suggestion overturning that rule.

 

I don't think you are reading what i'm saying correctly, not looking to bypass it or anything like that or make a suggestion that we should actually be able to.

I'm simply asking about it, as I mean i've never seen this before, then again I have only recently joint a website as a live chat assistant.

 

It's in place to not have websites have more than 1 thread and staff don't feel like looking into every case to see if people are actually selling personal gold. Because of that rule, you aren't allowed to have your own thread open.

 

This is somewhat the answer I was looking for, thanks for clearing that up. I just needed some information on it, that has cleared things up a bit better. (I was quite confused on why we wouldn't be allowed to actually sell our own gold to be honest)

 

I think it has a lot to do with the fact you can just bump your thread you're selling gold for a specific payment(s) and then if someone contacts you and sees your post (which you advertise Ace in your signature) and most people advertise the company they work for in their signature and UT. You can say "oh yeah well I just ran out of gold, but i'd be happy to assist you and then you link the website you work for. In this case there would be then two advertisements running for that gold shop in one section, by saying that no one can do it is how to prevent this from happening whether you support the company you work for in your Signature/UT/Avatar. It's kind of like if you work at McDonald's and you want to set up on top of them in the parking lot but you already have a job flipping burgers this wouldn't be allowed, as with most companies you aren't allowed to have a second job in the same kind of industry like Sales for example, you can't sell boats for one boat dealership and then work at Boats R Us 5 minutes down the road as you may bring new ways of trading/methods to the table whether it's for yourself or not, they want you completely separated from that first company.

By saying that no one can have their own separate thread while working for a company is completely fair. You wanted the job at the company, if you want to sell your own gold branch out then and leave the gold shop. I would be annoyed if my 4 workers all had threads under cutting me taking away from my chances at profit while working for me. Especially because I know they'd be using the best methods for trading and moving billions with out issues.
