NBA 2023

What does everyone think about all the moves this offseason? The Grizz Celtics swap is one I'm really interested in seeing how it plays out, but I think both sides won in that since Ja's gone for the first 20-30 games. Smart and Rose are solid vets and can keep him in check and Porzingis will space the floor a lot and be a good rim protector for us.

Also curious how people feel about Wemby heading into this year. Do you think he'll take off from the jump into a potential all star or turn into like a Giannis where it takes a few years to grow into his body and the system?

 

You're ok with Smart being gone? I was so surprised that trade even happened. As for Wemby, I'm not sure. I feel like bro needs to put on some more size first but you never know. We got guys like KD who can ball anyway.

wemby isnt gonna be as great as ppl thought. the fact ppl thought he was a better prodigy than bron is crazy. hes an injury waiting to happen and he looked pretty decent overall in the summer league. nba is very diff

 

Regardless, the new Flop Rule is going to make for some great Entertainment Imo. Going to be Interesting how this year plays out for sure!

 

I'm super sad about losing Smart and don't get me wrong I'd much rather have him as a Celtic for life, but we have to look forward and Porzingis is a great fit as well. We'll see how it plays out but I believe both Memphis and Boston won those trades.

Lakers ain't winning a chip soon imo Bron is 40 and AD is always injured, if they stay fully healthy (very low chance), then maybe (same goes with Clips).

As for Wemby I hear ya on that, I'm hoping he does well cause he seems like a humble dude, but we've seen how many big dudes (bol bol, hasheem thabeet, etc.) come in the league and have little to no impact? A lot... the only one who had a solid impact was Yao Ming, but even his career ended early cause of injuries.

The new rule is pretty much you get a tech if you do something deemed as a flop right? Double checking I looked at it right but seems interesting nonetheless, I'm not against it but not every flop is as clear cut as it seems but I get the point behind it.

 

everyu1 said last season they wouldnt make playoffs. they made it. they said they wouldnt get past playins. they did it. they wouldnt beat grizz. they did it. they wouldnt beat warriors. they did it. they made jokic and jamal murray play their best career basketball to beat them even when half the roster suddently didnt want to show up. oh Bron still played well mostly even on an injured foot. now we got time to heal, better roster, the younger guys have more experience. WE ARE COOKING THIS SEASON if no major injuries.

 

Even though they had a rough start I believe anyone who thought the Lakers wouldn't make the playoffs is out of their mind, but I didn't see them going to the WCF myself so I'll give you that. At the end of the day it's always nice to see Bron deep in the playoffs especially at this age, but we'll see what happens. It's hard to tell these days with his age and how injuries can change the course of a season in an instant, especially deep in the season. If no major injuries happen I believe it'll be Denver/Clippers and Bucks/Celtics with Celtics vs Clippers and Celtics winning the chip

Preseason has been unreal. Dame to the Bucks is a great addition for them. What's everyone's predictions after seeing the 23-24 preseason?

 

Lakers/Nuggets & Warriors/Suns last night. What a couple of games. Lakers lost and didn't really look that great whereas the Nuggets looked like a force to be reckon with. Warriors and Suns was meh, with Suns taking the victory with also having the absence of Bradley Beal. Stephen Curry however, looking in spectacular form as per always.

Bunch of games tonight, will update after they've all completed to share my thoughts.

Got a ways to go before they get him back. They sure aren't having a great few opening games unfortunately. I was hoping it would be promising with Rose/Smart added for Morant's absence.

Watching a few games right now... Dame Lillard is scoreless in the first half of the Bucks v. Hawks game after coming off a 39 point opening game. 0 points, 6 turnovers. Almost unheard of for him. We will see how the second half goes.

 

Clips lost to the Lakers in an upset, Bucks look kinda ass along with the Heat, but man, the Spurs are starting to heat up as Wemby dropped a career high 38.

 

Clips are still trash, Suns can't seem to win any games, although the Rockets upset the Nuggets in a close game. Seems like all these super teams are just ass: Bucks, Clippers, Suns..
