I couldn't tell if you were serious because that was a bunch of bullshit. Let me try to understand this...
Okay, so they take roll on skip day (which is of coarse is expected as it is not a holiday) and then they take their results and it shows how much the school "Gets" next year. Gets what? Free tickets to subway?
"So yes" to what? You haven't proven anything yet as all you have said it shows how much the school will get next year (Which could be anything from money to amount of people skipping). So then the school lowers its standards based on its loss of whatever it "gets" and therefore gives me a lesser education then what is required by the state, so therefore I get kicked out on the streets with all my recent knowledge erased and by intellectual has been returned to that of my preschool days?
Sorry to tell you this buddy, but a high school education is a high school education. Yes there are some schools that have much better educational systems and you can easily go to college easier and be prepared for it by attending those schools, but it wont lower my knowledge and put me out on the streets as you say.
Also, I attend school in Virginia. Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are the only states in the US who have a Commonwealth, which basically means we huge standards that we have to make, compared to other school systems. Some schools are set on a lower grading scale in which a
90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
60-69 D
59-0 F (Or something along those lines)
Our grading scale is based on the following
94-100 A
87-93 B
77-86 C
70-76 D
69-0 F
So thats a 10% difference overall from a passing to failing.
Out of all the schools in America, these 4 have the hardest testing, grading, and placement ten all the US. This doesn't mean no one else uses this grading scale, but we do have a higher overall rate of education.
Why did I mention this? Because I am showing you there is no way I am getting put out on the streets for making A's and B's in a Commonwealth school.
Now that you are properly educated, I will continue.
One day out of 180 days of school, missing one day is a mere 0.5555555555555556%. Out of all your High School career, missing one day is an even smaller 0.1388888888888889%. Missing one day will make you miss 8 hours out of 1440 total hours of one school year. Now think how many hours a year you sleep, mess around, and strait up not paying attention in school. My guess it is probably over 8 hours. This doesn't even account for bathroom/water/etc breaks you take from class.
So even if your in school, your still missing a couple of days of educational time a year.
Now I conclude that skipping one day of school intentionally will not affect your education any percent worth mentioning overall. Even if every student in your school didn't attend school that day, the worst that would happen is a threat from the principle saying that He/She is very disappointed in the student body's attitude toward school, and that it needs to be takes seriously. The state isn't going to deduct anything from your school for skipping one day, and surely isn't going to ruin the rest of your life.
