In order to get myself back into shape and stay motivated/accountable, Ill be maintaining a log of everything I will be doing over the next few months, and updating it on a daily basis. I imagine I will include specifics including work outs I do, lift amounts, before and after pictures, etc etc.

NOTE: if anyone has any questions on any of the exercises or various training items I am doing, feel free to inquire on them and I will either explain them or post a picture/video demonstrating what it is and how to do it.

Start (28FEB)

Morning: 1 hour of basketball PT followed by 20 minutes of stretching
Afternoon lifting session: 3 complexes (Bent over rows/Squats/Clean and press/Lunge) 10 reps per with 2 minutes of rest in between each complex. Followed by three giant sets of plate rolls, crunches, and burpees (20 reps per).

01MAR

Morning: 20 minute dynamic/static stretches.
Afternoon: recovery workout, 20 minutes of nonstop bodyweight circuit exercises.

02MAR
(happy birthday to me)
Afternoon: Same set of complexes I did on monday followed by crossfit workout; 5 pull ups, 10 box jumps, 15 elevated push ups, 20 sit ups, and 50 jump ropes. 5 sets for time, finished in 9:50. Good workout.

03MAR

Just an hour of MMA training tonight, first time back in a while so went a little easy and tues/thurs are my recovery workout days :)

Just max out defence to 99 first and then get strength, then you can box.You should probably train on ankous or chaos druids. gl kthxbai

Lol, it is a real life training, not a RuneScape one.
Interesting, will definately read, I am exercising by myself everyday.

Lol grasshopper is just trollin on purpose.

OT: Well i would like to know your work log so i can see what type of training you prefer.

I will be doing a ton of differnt stuff, from stretching, to running/sprints, to olympic lifts, to bodyweight circuits, to body building lifts, strongman training, simulated high altitude training, and of course your basic MMA workouts.

Should be a fun experience.

Can you please direct me to a good e-source of stretching information/exercises, I haven't looked hard but most of the ones I've found are crappy static stuff and not the real deal.

I know there's no way I can train now and I'm very out of shape, but at least stretching/light exercise 'til spring/summer when I'll actually resume training will help me somewhat.

Ya, theres a good site I cant think off the top of my head. Going to lift right now but ill hook you up when I get back. Wish me luck!

Dont pull any muscles man!. How much are you paying for training?

I work out at my university gym, and I dont pay for training because I am (was up until my break) one of the top fighters competing at my coach's gym. I also help instruct from time to time.

Will follow this, maybe I can learn some tips too :)

I meant for the fighting camps, such as boxing/muay thai/ jiu jutsu. I know one coach cant handle all of that at the same time lol.

So basicaly they are teaching you the combat sports for free as well?! O-o thats gotta be awesome.

Well I mean when I started training there I obviously paid for it, but as I got better and started fighting for the gym he stopped charging me for training costs so I train as often as I want without cost.

Day 1 exercises posted. Success.

Nate shouldn't you stretch both before and after?

From my knowledge, stretching beforehand looses your muscles up so they risk less injury. Stretching after, relieves them or something.

I'd suggest 10 minutes before, and 10 minutes after.

Goooooodluck :D love a good training log
Im a pt and train at a gym 2-3 nights a week also doing mma, muay thai and brazilian jujitsu. Pretty sure you just became a best friend ;). You better keep this log going!

@ mal, stretching before is good but usually doing the first set at a really low weight and doing as many reps as you can stretches the correct muscle, increasing the stretch/work done and also isolation on the muscle in the next sets :D

Would be VERY much appreciated, I feel it's what held me back a lot before.

There's much difference of opinion on this, I'll post more later when I'm back from work (if I'm not too tired).

Ya I always stretch before and after workouts, when I list a stretch session it means I did it aside from any other workout.

When doing dynamic/ballistic/PNF stretching - id suggest jogging for a while before starting.
