Not really man, boxing in all honesty is just about logging the hours. To get faster at punching, you must punch. To become more fluid with combos, you must throw them. To get a stronger hit, you gotta work the heavy bag. It just takes alot of time to become good at boxing if boxing is strictly what you will be doing.

 

Yeah, I am going to be training for a good 5-6 years hopefully that is enough time for me to get into something big, and get into smaller fights in those couple of years. Thanks for the above answer though. Much appreciated.

Yes it will be hopefully. Just may try out different sorts of fighting skills such as mma, bjj, and kickboxing in the future though

Beauty of MMA is you can be a jack of all trades and still be successful, you don't have to be world class in any 1 aspect of it in order to be successful.

Speaking thing I would not know as I was blessed with being a relatively good public speaker.

However with the getting in shape thing, I suggest looking into the paleo diet or zone diet, both are excellent guides to healthy eating habits and have served me well since I started them.

 

I am 20 years old. I will definitely give Muay Thai a shot. They offer it at my college so that is a plus. I tried some other martial arts such as Capoiera and learned very quickly that they are good for exercising let alone fighting . They arent as applicable to MMA and you dont see them very often, but the fighting style throws off most opponents do to the sporatic movements. If you have a chance sometime you might give it a try and see how you like it.

 

BJJ is extremely useful. You might be taken to the ground and not be able to get back up due to an opponent with a strong ground game. Boxing is great for stand up, but you need a back up plan

You are a 20 year old BJJ black belt? Who did you get your belt under? I find that somewhat difficult to believe as it takes most practicioners 15-20 years on average, and most schools wont even start you on "adult" ranks until you are 16....

 

Carlos Henrique R. Elias. I have been in BJJ since i was 8 y.o. only takes around 10 years to actually receive your black belt. The only catch to it is that you have to be atleast 19 to get a black belt. That is the youngest you can be. Where did you hear that it took 15-20? I am curious.

Well I am obviously fluent in english haha, but I speak spanish to a point where I can hold discussions regarding basically anything and do it with a moderate vocabulary and good grasp on all grammatical concepts. I have a very high definition of what it means to be "fluent", so I do not yet consider myself fluent for it.
