Filtered Display Names

Jagex actively filters certain names for a variety of reasons. This is a list of most of the names (english words) that are currently unavailable on Runescape:


1) Words beginning with "Dep" - these are associated with department, could be conceived as an official or authority figure and are filtered. Some names beginning with "Dep" are taken possibly before the filter was created.

2) Words beginning with "Mod" - these are associated with moderation, could be conceived as an official or authority figure and are filtered. Some names beginning with "Mod" are taken possibly before the filter was created.

Police


4) Words that have "ira" located at the start - relates to the Irish IRA

5) Some words that end in "aze" or "azy" - possibly drug related? I'm unsure.

Keep in mind, however, that some names: Blaze, Glaze, Daze, Laze, Lazy are not filtered. Whether this is because they were taken before the filter was added is unknown.


6) Some words relating to drugs, alcohol, and sex are filtered while others (possibly because they have not been online and reported) are not:

7) Swear words in any form - I won't bother listing them.


8) Words that end in "lude". I have no idea why - maybe a foreign swear word? Ironically the name "Lude" itself, is taken:

I rewrote this from memory as I deleted my complete list a while back. Thought it might be useful to people interested in display names. Please note if you buy a name that fits one of these categories it may be automatically filtered on transfer.

Looking for pokemon names, mainly legendary pokemon names!

 

Jagex has deleted a lot of names only to give them back/release them at another point.

Blue, Red, Star, Across, and others. Some of them get deleted for frequent rwt and are released at random, while some are purposely held by a JMod for a friend. JMods also will release certain deleted names and give heads up to players so they can get the name. Pathetic favoritism.

Also, I added your two to my list, thanks! I don't usually cover numbers (not my thing), but they make sense in that post.

Also agree regarding the Jmod thing, they have often given names to Pmod ass-lickers that are generals in their cc's extremely rare names... like "Tina" got his name just by ass-licking and then later RWT and bought "21" ... seriously, jagex, how stupid can you be? giving a extremely rare name to a shemale that buys names online lol.
