Name Changing Query?

I own some 2 letter names.

I also own a pure with a crappy name

How do I put a 2 letter name on my pure?

Do I change the 2 letter name to some thing else, then wait 35 days then change the pure's name to the 2 letter name or what?

Any help appreciated!

Usernames are not the same as Display names. You cannot change your display name to someones username even if they are not using their username as their display name.

Let's say the username A changes his display name to something completely different. Then someone else comes along after A has changed his display name to something else, and tries to change their display name to A. They cannot, because someone already has that name even though it is not in use.

Process for a DISPLAY TO DISPLAY change:

Yes, essentially you'll change the rare name off the account and wait an allotted amount of time (about a month) for it to become available to the public again. When this happens you just change your crappy pure name to it via the display name change.

And although it is unlikely, be careful because it could be scooped up if you aren't paying attention. You don't need pinpoint timing when re-changing the name though, I'm fairly certain nobody would try the 2 letter within a day or two.

Unless a strange scenario were to occur like the last name changing update where they re-opened many names. (Assuming Zezima was incredibly inactive and they offered this again, which is extremely unlikely).

My guess would be they deleted accounts under the conditions that they were all level 3 accounts, with NO or very little experience towards it, had not been logged in since RuneScape classic, and/or had never exited Tutorial Island. That would be my guess.

Wrong.

If the display name and the "previously known as: *" name are NOT the same as the account name, then it is possible to xfer the account name as a display name.
Ergo, you must change the 2 letter name twice, opening up the 2 letter name and placing it onto your pure.
