Steam items have a different value compared to IRL money value, mainly because you can't withdraw steam wallet money.

That knife is worth around 220 CSGO keys. You can buy CSGO keys from people anywhere from $1.7-1.9 each. If you load up your steam wallet you would basically pay $2.5 per key. It's worth $500+ in steam currency. Just over $400 if he'd sell it to someone for IRL money.
