OMM and Conflict of Interest

Hey, I'd just like to suggest that OMM applications be handled by the Head Middleman instead of voted on by the other OMMs.

Feels to me like there's a pretty obvious issue with other OMMs deciding who's in and who's not - it affects their business, so unless they feel particularly avuncular, no one new is getting in.

Other solutions would be cool too if you can think something up.

Thoughts?

edit: I was wrong about how OMMs are voted on: it's admins/globals. If that extends to retired, then we're still 8/13 in the same boat. Anyway, cheers for the speedy responses.

 

Applications were never voted by OMMs.
You need to first finish application
Once head middleman checks if all proofs are valid and trades are documentated properly you're getting to 2nd stage in upper staff lounge where admins and global mods are voting if you should have OMM status or not.

 

OMM's don't decide who become OMM.

Just a heads up -

Roary and I have been talking about it, and from now on, there will be a discussion/vote between all OMMs about people who's applications are completed. This way, it's not just the staff vote but there's input from other community members.

Just thought I'd let everyone know the fake of transparency. They won't be deciding whether the OMM poll is passed, but they will have the opportunity to chip in on the character/middlemanning habits of the user who is applying.
