Ya seriously...once rshopper posted a pic of an actual 3D FPS game engine and no one cared.

Im very curious on why everyone is so hyped up about a few green squares and a man resembling Link from Link to the Past or w/e, please explain how amazing this is...

well, creating a 2d game engine needs skill and knowledge of how to use advanced vb .net ( maybe not advanced but a lot of vb.net knowledge.)

Hey Speljohan, is it a closed-source project? I haven't downloaded it because I refuse to use alpha software unless its my own, but still.

Also, what size are those tiles bro? And did you draw your own images?

Yeah, for now it's closed-source. Will probably be open source later. I fixed the download link, btw.

yep. I'm converting the whole project from GDI+ to SDL now. Will increase performance drastically.

sorry for double post, but i had to get this up anyway. I'm currently working with some very annoying shit here, involving math formulas.

In theory i want to do this:
only draw map let's say 3x3 tiles, with player in center. When player moves, tile position moves as well, so i can see a new set of tiles.

If anyone smart can solve that, don't hesitate to reply in this thread.

Well, in the future i will need graphics, and tilesets. Every tile should be 30x30 pixels.
