my total noob question

Ive read the forums for a few days to try to figure out my problems and still cant lol. I downloaded amongthebests sts which allowed me to log on fine. When downloading the scripts post(to scripts in sts?) i keep getting errors and scripts wont load. So I uninstalled my java and reinstalled and downloaded jdk5 as it said in help file. After that I couldnt even log on lol. Did it all again and still get same error(javac not recognized) but I can get on but still cant load scripts. I saw forum that said go to wartnet however I cant register there. I havent played for awhile but started playing again a few weeks ago. Maybe two years ago I used sts for a couple months then it stopped working so I never bothered to get it working again. I remember how to use scripts but dont understand what Im doing wrong to get them to compile/load. Also alot of the old links to tutorials lead to expired web pages.
Any help woud be great as Im a huge noob at this stuff. lol Does anyone have one already fixed they can send me on aim?(or is that question poor form lol)

 

hmm well. put both the script file and the script text file in the sts sbot folder and the scripts folder. proceed by clicking compile.exe in both folders. then go back and double click run.exe. when sts is running and logged in type

"/start SCRIPTNAMEOFFILE"

a little box should appear, X it out

now look at your command prompt and it should say something like

STARTSCRIPTNAMEOFFILE
/RUN STARTINGSCRIPT

as an example. so now type in whatever it told you to run. example /run startingscript *enter*. it should work fine.
