    My RWT items removed.

Hey guys, just thought I'd post this to warn you guys. A few days ago I bought 150m on here. I traded some junk items to the seller and he even traded some to me. I said in rs chat "free stuff pl0x" and "O_O" when the seller gave me the gold all to make it look as if I was joking and surprised about getting the gold. I then put in an offer on the G.E. for 40k d bones, BCP, and Tassets. I got 10k bones right away (because of the limit) and the bandos armour. I started training prayer in my POH with my altar with the 10k d bones I had already received and my offer for the rest of the bones was still in the G.E. A few minutes later while I was training prayer, I got disconnected and it wouldn't let me log back into my account. About 5 minutes later it finally let me back on and 3.5m in my money pouch as well as the 30k other dragon bones offer were gone, so I lost 120m. I hadn't said a thing about the RWT inside of RS, so I guess that means that Jagex does scan over items and whatnot, which is helpful info. I sent them a letter pretending that I thought I got hacked somehow and they sent me back the standard letter about how to avoid hacking and whatnot. They said that they couldn't return stolen items or gold because they're constantly researching a way to make a system for that, but that they don't have the technology for it yet. I did not get a ban or any warning in my RS inbox or elevated offenses, though. I am posting this in hopes that it will be useful information for people that might look to buy gold in the future and so that if they do they will be very careful. I am wondering, though, if anyone knows how to RWT without getting caught like that, because I know Arcus Isidar and Kevin and all of them buy/sell gold in mass amounts all of the time, and I wonder how they prevent getting caught. Most sellers won't agree to do it through the duel arena or anything complex like that. Any tips would be very helpful, thanks guys.

Hmm thanks for the info, I've been hearing a lot about these kinds of wipes happening recently, it's scary!

Would have been a bit more helpful if you sent Jagex a message saying your friend GAVE you 105M for free, and now it is all gone, and see what their response to that would have been!

That really sucks... I guess I shouldn't be too surprised about it though considering what things Jagex have done the past year or two.
    Thanks for the info though

My guess is they flag trades of greater than X million unbalanced (I have no idea the exact number ) it would have to be high enough that they represent a statistical anomaly. Once the trade is made they probably check the IP range of both parties if one of the IPs originates from a known gold farming company (or a known proxy server) they probably have evidence enough to believe you are RWT...on top of all this other information if you have JUST met the guy that would be another bit of negative evidence....

If you don't want to get flagged buy <10m at a time that's my advice...

Best way to do it is buy the most expensive item you can and lend it out for however many hours you are going to log out

Eh, doesn't sound like jagex. Sounds more like someone ddosed you offline and took your stuff. Did you check to make sure it was your ip when you logged back in? Because they wouldn't need to disconnect for five minutes it would of been instantaneous.

This. I trade HUNDREDS OF M across accounts with friends and we don't even try to make it look legit and we never get caught. Sorry about your loss though, it sucks :(

I do believe that there is a thread here on Sythe in RS General about recent account cleanings.

Seems that if you trade with a flagged IP, you are basically screwed.

I've sold over 10bil, and over 7bil of it was via trade. I've even received amounts as large as 1.9bil in single trades, without any RWT bans. His story sounds a lot like someone hijacked his account and cleaned it rather than him being wiped

And don't forget to ask if he had a bank pin.

I would scan your computer because there are tons of viruses that can log your bank pin and login details.

I don't know. There was a guy the other day claiming to be wiped for like 20 or 30m. So they may be cracking down.

Big sellers still get wiped, but profits exceed losses so they can handle it. Don't think acting in rs will prevent a wipe; it won't. Wipes are usually automated by a system they have in place. Junk items won't help either.. if it is a large one sided trade thats all they see.

I've never RWTed to be honest so this was really only a guess. But the DDOS does sound plausible as well. That's really to bad.

IMHO, it depends on your luck. Some people trade bils without ever getting caught.

It's funny how people scam money nonstop and those accounts do not get cracked down. Jagex just does not like RWT

Ah ok, this is very helpful. Thanks to both of you. What I take away from all of your comments, some good tips for people to keep in mind (especially me for future reference) are 1. Scan your computer regularly 2. avoid trading with foreign IPs and flagged accounts 3. Definitely keep a bank pin 4. Trade in low increments and not too often.

After reading these comments, I see it as a likely possibility that the seller (who I will leave anonymous, in case this is false,) DDosed me after the trade, because I do have a bank pin, and nothing in my bank was touched, but the interesting thing was that my grand exchange offer, which you all know, requires a pin, was affected also.

As an optimist, I see that the good news from this is that I havn't been flagged as a RWT'er in RS and that in the future I will be more informed about safety when RWT'ing as, hopefully, will others that read this forum.

They ddos you offline, then they logon to your account and clean you...That is why he wasn't able to login because his internet was down.

Sounds like you were hi-jacked, usually they do the above^ for bank accounts and remove all gold that they suspect was RWT'ed. Best place to do it is in the duel arena. However I trade party hats between my friends and I and havent ben caught along with buying several thousand dollars worth of gp and havent been RWT'ed or wiped yet, just luck of the draw...NOT youve been hijacked broski.
