Just spent $850 ordering parts for my computer. Mainly bought the basics for now, and plan on upgrading in a few weeks.

Pretty good, well done on the processor, i5 unlocked is all you need. Are you going to get a proper graphics card for it? The Integrated graphics will hold you back quite a bit, although running RS and such shouldn't be a problem.

 

I was just about to say this. You really might want to invest into a graphics card. Maybe not a high-end one, but I'd get one if I was you. That's if you're going to use this for gaming.

Other than that though, great build.

Very nice upgrade ^_^ Congrats! I'd be excited about that too... I was going to get a guy friend of mine to build and put together a new computer/PC for me.

However, I figured it'd be a hassle getting it to school once the semester starts. Thinking about getting a PS3/some controllers/and playing MW3 for the summer instead of a new computer.

My jaw kind of dropped when I saw the picture of your current laptop, lol. No offense, but a pizza laptop box...very original and eccentric.

 

Whatever you do, make sure you go Nvidia. Something out of the 500/600 series would be very nice.

If you're planning on botting at all you made a mistake getting the i5 over the i7. And if you don't plan on going SLI with 2 GPU's or 'crossfire' then a 400-600W PSU would have been sufficient, but that PSU is good if you do.

edit: I would have spent $300 on the i7-3770 and got a $100 mobo with it, or go for the 3770k, $30 on cooling & a $110 mobo that's decent for OC'ing. Without OC'ing the 3770 would be able to run 10-14 bots, I personally get 12. I get 14 on my 2600k OC'd, 8 on my i7-860, 7 on my fx-8150, and 6 on my fx-8120.

 

Nah, I don't really plan on botting really, mainly just upgraded since my current computer is a piece of shit.


On a side note, everything came today, looking good so far, should be up and running with pictures tomorrow.

Of course there was a short in my power supply, but luckily my dad had a similar PSU I'm using in the mean time.

 

A little messy inside, so I didn't want to take a picture of the insides. I'll straighten it up soon though.

Been wayyy too lazy to fix the wiring in the inside. But about a week ago, I ordered a new graphics card.

I also plan on buying a 120-256gb SSD, new CPU fan (might go liquid cooling), and a couple more accessories. Not too good with picking out SSD's, so anyone that's wanting to give me a couple tips on the SSD would be appreciated.

And one last thing. Is Liquid cooling really worth getting, or just buy a better CPU fan? I'm currently using the stock fan right now.
