My Friends Are Haters

Ignore them, and then laugh when they're broke and you have a steady income. They'll get a reality check soon, you've just got to wait for that.

 

This is completely off topic, but why do people say this?

You know what that means, right? It's saying you care, because you could (can) care less. The proper term is I couldn't care less. That means that you're at the point where you don't care, meaning it's impossible to care any less. Everyone says it wrong, and it really annoys me.

If the tradegy of having a friend send you a teasing message drove you to cry out for help, you're probably about to have a stroke. If you want to be treated like a big boy, learn to handle big boy banter. Electing to spend your free time earning pittance does not grant you superiority, and you're no closer to a supercar or fancy education than any of your 'friends' who obviously have no prospects because you don't find them sexy.

Basically, get over it and learn to take a joke or defend your views instead of running over to this forum to bitch about it.

Looks are not everything kiddo...they can only get u so far in life, after that ur on ur own. Ur always gonna have problems with ppl if u act and think like u do now.

A job's a job. It's good you have one, I don't know why you'd even think twice about someone thinking less of you for having one.

No I don't think I'm more mature because I have a job, if someone told you that you were a poor piece of shit I'm sure you'd "overreact" as well. (To the haters/trolls)

I had a lot of very rich friends growing up, mostly in high-school. It was really tough having to go to work and earn my money for car payments, spending cash, etc. But later in down the road I realized how lucky I was to learn early in life that your only as good as the work you do. Diligence, attention to detail, and perseverance will get you a lot farther in life than mooching off parents.

Brush off their snide rich ass comments and keep working hard. I know you sure as hell don't get engineering internships, or keep them, by sitting on your ass all day scaping. Be the bigger man.

 

This is one of the smallest issues you'll come across in life. If you don't want people to give their opinion, don't ask for it. You can't filter out what you don't like.

You may think people telling you what you want to hear is supporting you, but it's actually more of a hindrance to your life skills and learning to cope with other people and their opinions.

 

My parents also used to give me money like your friends. But i left school at 15 (almost 16) and got an apprenticeship as an electrician coz i was hungry for money an started off on $7.50 an hr.. by the time my friends all left school i was earning $18 an hour an 1 year after they had started working (half of them wasting their time at school only to get an apprenticeship anyways) i was earning $28+ an qualified..

I personally hated bumming off my parents but my younger brother has no shame lol, each to their own tho. If you lack poor work ethic in your youth how will you ever own the finer things in life.
