My Attempt at a Sig (Disturbed)

I was toying around with photoshop and created some I am semi-happy with. I just can seem to find anything else I can do to make it look better. So I am looking for some criticism and possibly some ideas on how to make it look better.

    Don't use scan lines.

Don't have arms sticking out the top.

    Two major tips.

La le la la, la la le la la, la le la la, la la le la.

I don't get why if you have such an advanced program you still manage to fail epicly. God just use gimp so you atleast have an excuse.

The arms are what differentiates it and make the render remotely good, but the background is terrible.. I really do not like the color

    The flamzor begins? :p

Don't use scanlines unless you know how. Popout sig always come out bad. The first sig I would say is the best but you should have tried to blend the render into the sig.

I don't like the weird distortion... start with some brushes if you want, but don't get too into them. Mess around with filters a lot, pretty much just manipulate a stock, c4d, or render. Anything else becomes overkill.

    tip 1, get brushes
tip 2, lose the popout, almost always they look bad, especially when the majority of the render is out of the sig.
    tip 3, use some lighting.

I have brushes :) Nearly 400 megs of them, but I rarely use them in sigs :(

    but how is this?

I did this only with brushes and layer styles. Better or worse?

A little better, still need to work on blending and a few other things, try reading a few tuts and then take the techniques from there and put it in your sig.

Also, try to give your sig dimension. I was never (and still not) good at that, but depth is always attractive in graphics, seems to give it more flare. You can do this with certain lighting techniques which I have yet to learn, so if you find a tut pm me please. Then again, I use GIMP so I can't really use any tuts you find.. but I might manage! Lol

4th one is the bes imo. I wonder why you used as messy render as that is?

Why do you continue to change the sig but leave it as a pop out. ALL pop outs are ugly. Read some tutorials.

My Attempt at a Sig (Disturbed)

I wish to keep it as a popout, and I know you think that popouts are ugly, but I am doing my best to make it look pretty good for a pop out. I like how my render is used in this sig, and I don't want to contain it all in the sig because it would change the size too much.

Much better, same color (sorta), but maybe try doing a nice background, like uhh.. work with some random things, sometimes I find it fun to make like 6 copy's of that layer, then mess around and around, and make one normal one above, then mess with that to make a background, that way you get the same colors as in the render ;)
Also, in Deviantart, there are a lot of really cool brushes that you can use. But to be honest, use some tutorials, they REALLY REALLY HELP OUT :D

Wow.. I like your sigs a lot lol, nice :p

ohrlly? Then use them a bit, make one or two in front of the render, but to be honest, I would make the background a bit bigger, or something, the hand does come out too far, a little would look nice. >_O
