I don't play the game, but there is no reason to close it.
Just add in the first post that many members have gotten banned for using it, and so to be careful.
If someone wants to use it and risk getting banned, who is to tell them they cannot? It's a macro, people know it is cheating, and so if you use it and get banned, there is no reason you should be complaining.
I voted to re-open it.
Thanks. When I found out Jagex had intell on the auto-talker I let people know, stopped using the bot myself and recommended others do the same, to be safe (even though the risk of running into a J-Mod is very small).
When V1 became risky, I removed and updated the bot right away successfully making it completely safe to use again, and would do the same if that ever becomes the case with V2. In short there is barely any risk at all, especially with the most recent version, 2.08.
At the end of the day I don't expect people to believe me after a few people got 5 black mark bans, but I can assure you this was bot-busting (obviously, from the numerous JMod sightings at the time) not detection systems, and actually led to only about 10 bans, not many considering a lot of people use the bot.
I think it's sad it's removal was based on ONE thread by someone saying they got a PERM BAN with 3 hours, and a SECOND thread by someone who has never even used the bot, which went something like 'omg people are getting banned really quickly'. I ignored the second one (rightfully so, so should you) but investigated the first (as I do with all claims of bans), and the person was perm banned, but with over 13 black marks, and only 5 of which were from using my bot. I don't expect Sythe mods to put in that effort, but I would expect a little discretion. If the bot was really a great risk, it wouldn't be such big news that someone got a ban in the first place. About 1k accounts a week are perm banned for rule 7, nobody's ever got a 10 black mark ban from MTA V2. Whatever way you look at it, if bans are your reason, it won't take a week to realise removal of my thread was not justified.
I'd understand if there was reason to believe I was lying etc, but we've all seen the pictures of J-Mods at the MTA (if it was detectable by any system, it wouldn't be a Jagex employee manually issuing the ban), even still, not one genuine person can come here and say they've got 10 black marks from V2 of my bot, and provide a screenshot of ban appeal (I know 2ndarrow2 seems to think he got 10 black marks, but I've seen his ban appeal centre - he has 4 other rule 7 breaks, and a total of 8 offenses and 13 black marks, I'm not calling hiim a liar, but that doesn't add up, especially when you consider there were other bot busts, and all others were 5 black marks) as far as I know. If there was any 10 black mark bans, I'm yet to see it.
The bot is already updated fixing the vulnerability in the auto-talker that led to a temporary vulnerability to bot busting.
So the only conclusion I can arrive at, is (rightly or wrongly) - Zyphur cares more about what people say, than actual facts. Hopefully even if he looks into the facts, he will listen to what people are saying and re-instate the thread.
PS. If that does happen, I'll let people know not to start secondary threads related to the bot on the first page, but I really think you should make this more clear than 'don't post bugs/problems/help'.
Now that's out the way, there appears to be a bug with version 2.08 for quite a few people, sounds like it's more than settings - could be a Java related problem. I'm investigating it at the moment and I'll sort that out before I deactivate 2.07
