More accurate vouches/signatures

I understand keeping track of how many positive/negative trades you've had in your signature. When people begin fabricating how many positive trades they've ACTUALLY had... Is when the idea of a counter becomes sort of sketchy to me. Sure, anyone can write "Good Trades: 200" in their signature.

I suppose any seasoned Sythe user would know better than to trust a simple signature, yet the amount of scammers that fabricate vouches and signatures could really turn off a legitimate new user from trading.

Then again, everyone should be wary of what they're doing, it's just a nice idea.

 

So what exactly is your suggestion?

That people aren't aloud to lie about their good and bad trades? Cuz I'm pretty sure that's never been aloud.

I'm looking through your post to try and find what your "idea" is, but I can't seem to find it.

 

For the staff to actively check into people's signatures, I'd assume.

 

Impossible to enforce, it's the user's responsibility to decide whether or not they can trust the person.

 

Sorry I didn't really define my suggestion in the first OP.
I think if there were some way to monitor or check trades after they've been completed, like something where both parties could agree that the trade went well, then it would count as a positive trade, and open up the ability to vouch.

 

Which is what I stated in my last sentence. Although, I think it would help.

Fake Vouches = Ban

If you see someone or trade someone that has false/fake vouches, report them and a staff member will deal with it shortly

 

Already suggested that there be a format. FireZ said he'd make a sticky; I haven't checked if its up yet tho.

 

I *think* I'm going to get in contact with FireZ and see if we can combine our thoughts and produce one hell of a sticky.

 

Stickies get ignored, and disobeying stickies just means more thing mods have to keep up with. I don't think a sticky can solve a problem like this.

I've only had 3 trades on this site (one was a Steam ID that I don't count because it was on an old sythe account I forgot the user and pass to) When people are HONEST it makes trading and this site a heck of a lot nicer.

It's just a shame that a lot of RS players are idiots that think they're Gh0st or something.

 

This suggestion is pointless.


A member will deem another member trustworthy based upon their own expense.

If people are lying about the number of vouches they have in their signature, then the person who is researching / stalking the member could just go to their official vouch thread (if existent) and see if they actually have the number of vouches.

 

This, if it's fake, report it, and we'll handle it.
