Moderators and Feedback
I agree with many points you make. From past experience (not much, but what can ya do :P ), I've noticed some Mods who can't take feedback, because most think they are always right, but sometimes, the person who is giving the user feedback, doesn't really give them any options.

Other times, and yes there are many times where a Mod will get negative feedback and another Mod comes along and tries to back the other Mod up. I can understand this, because essentially we are a team, but there are times, when they are both wrong and need to take the advice and learn from it. But also, some members need to give staff feedback, but not just that, they also need to give options on how the particular staff member(s) need to improve, not just saying ""Not so good"

I hope this made sense, and ultimately in the end it takes both sides of the party to be able to make this site better.

I'm just going to say more now, since I have time. I agree that it takes both sides, the staff and the users, for feedback to work effectively. There are plenty of times where the user feedback just is not good enough for change to happen. However, there are also times where the feedback is given over and over again and spelled out in as many ways as possible, and all of it still gets shrugged off. Of course, it is obvious that some try to take the feedback, like you, but that does not bring around real change. One person has no ability to change anything within the staff. Honestly, the staff really needs a leader, per say, to really take command and force change. But, without change of those in charge, this is unlikely to happen.

Have you ever been on an "team" even in NBA or the NFL. If you start a fight, your team will back you up, no matter if your wrong or if your right. As gohan said, the staff are a team and will work likewise.

Next, posting constructive feedback is okay. However so far from what i've seen, all i see are ex-mods trying to get at the current mods for no reason.

Just a few weeks ago someone tried to frame Nate(was omm then) for account cracking with no obvious proof. he said "posting on behalf of a friend" and disappears and i never see him again, he was also an ex-mod and i believe his post was bullshit.

And for your info, FireZ is a great guy who has MM'd plenty for me and has answered and helped me in many ways. Now, there's a problem with him treating possible scammers with strictness? Look at the police, do you see them escorting suspects to jail with a smile on their face and treating them with respect? No
This is the same exact thing here, a possible suspect should get locked up until he proves himself innocent to prevent further harm.

I do not approve of SuF becoming a mod again.

You have a completely wrong sense of what I am saying. I am not picking a fight with the staff, and they do not need to be "backed up". This is not a fight and the staff seem to try to make it into one, so that they do not have to change the way they see themselves. This thread is not just about or just inspired by FireZ, and I do not think that generalizing ex-mods is very good.

Its nothing against you, its the people without common sense that i'm trying to get my point across. And that was mostly towards Kib cause he thinks FireZ is doing the wrong thing.
Wouldn't you try and keep a man who might be a potential murderer away temporarily until he proves he is not? Or will you rather risk him becoming a murderer first then keep him away after someone is killed.

Most of the Mods DO have an air of respect for everyone. Just in the face of a potential scammer/hacker/phisher that face turns into something else.
You can criticize a Mod yes, but whats that going to do? its not going to change them, they'll do whatever they want as long as its in Sythe's agenda.

Next, what do you expect out of criticizing a Mod? Have them happily hug you and be best buddies? The real world, you say something bad about ANYONE irl they will feel pissed. Also i've heard of no1 banned for criticizing a MOd EVER, you will get looked down upon by the mod (obviously), but thats all. And if that Mod happens to be best buddies with the other Mods. What do you think friends are for? To back friends up. So they'll look down upon you too.
If your criticism happens to have merit( which so far the FireZ criticism does NOT) the other Mods will notice and do something about it.

The point of criticism is to HELP the moderators not INSULT them. The moderators are making a fight out of someone trying to help them or just ignoring the help. The burden of proof lies with the accuser, not the accused. Else, you could be banned for scamming me. Prove that you did not scam me. You can't, is the simple answer.

This i understand and i agree with you about. Not everyone can take criticism and put it to good use and in my life only a handful of people i know from the media and i know form real life make good use of it.
Its as evident in real life as it is on Sythe.

You're kissing up enough to become a mod, keep up the good work - but I digress to the point.

I agree completely with SuF. There is plenty of feedback, but nothing being done about it. I have had an account recovery claim that I posted several times in a row, and nothing has been done about. Posted it in Staff Feedback thread and still I have no luck. I think to be an efficient community you must begin with the upper level members. I know that the people around here are not the smartest or the most respectful, but there are some true members that actually try to help and most of it is really ignore.

People can learn. I am not where perfect, but I am trying to get better at it. It just takes some thought and work, which should not be too much to ask.

You guys really have no idea what goes on with alot of the bans that FireZ handles. There is more than enough proof typically, and for the ones that there are not, the benefit of the doubt is given. FireZ does a fine job of keeping bad people off the site. If you dont like the methods he does it, tough luck really, as it is being done for the betterment of the site.

This is completely off-topic and in my opinion, is wrong.

My bans are all 110% solid and I can provide the evidence at any time. You'd have to have a wall of china of ignorance to think I ban whoever I want for whatever I want. I ban those who break the rules and do not care whether people like it or not, I am doing what I was hired to do.

I am also taking your guys feedback, the 10% of it that I can actually use and going to try to start applying it here in January. Small steps.

It is entirely on topic considering 90% of your posts in this section are either blatant or masked attacks on how FireZ runs things around here. He has done alot more to protect the site than you ever did as a global, and it just seems like most of your posts are bitter ad hom attacks on people that you neither know nor understand in all honesty. I have no issue with you outside of the fact that you love causing drama, however this one I am not ok with. JT has done ALOT for the site; I imagine I would be flabbergasted at the amount of time he has spent on his own searching and keeping out any people who intend on doing the site harm. He has my support 100%, and if you think that is "off topic and wrong" then YOU are wrong sadly.

There are many mods here on sythe that don't care about no one but themselves, They think they're too good to help members with low ranks, They barely reply back and if they do, They e-rage behind they're computer screens thinking They're hard. But on the other side, They're are some admins that truly care and listen to what you have to say, Suf, Thanks for opening up a Subject like this.

Off-topic, spam and flaming, so I'm moving on.

I do not believe that the staff members do not care. They would not be staff if they did not care. I would say most of the issues I see are more unconscious than anything, which makes them much harder to fix.

I disagree with you telling me i'm kissing up. Im blatantly posting my thoughts and opinions. From what im hearing, everyone who tries to support anyone in their life is now "kissing up"? Hop off my case and come back when you stop using childish terms.

Next, i think the biggest flaw in this site are the people who try to associate their country's laws and policies with Sythe. Sythe is a totally independent by itself, it is not subject to any country's laws or policies but its own. They have to realize that and stop posting about their "rights"

If one thing is legal in one country but is illegal in another. How are we to know which which side we should pick? We cant. Thus it is only by the goodwill of Sythe(user) himself and the Staff to make the rules and keep it clean and fair. If by ANY chance extreme measures are to be taken, they will have to be taken.
There is no such thing as Habeous Corpus or the Miranda rights on Sythe. There is no 10 amendments, and even the rules will be bent that way or another. A unwarranted ban can be made warranted just by the opinion of an Admin or Sythe. Constructive criticism wont change this policy and never will.

Support... (spam alert)

Anyway, admins and Sythe do have the authority to make bans warranted... Considering that sythe is the owner, and therefore the God of the forum. He hands out his power to the admins... Simple.

That is not what this topic is about at all. I do not see why it was even brought up.

This thread and all of Suf's threads for that matter aren't here to start drama. You don't have to pick a side and start flaming. The name of this forum is FEEDBACK people. If you can't accept feedback and constructive criticism then don't post and certainly don't try and become a moderator. If you post on this thread specifically then it needs to be on the topic of what is expected of a standard member versus a moderator and how moderators need to learn how to accept feedback and constructive criticism without becoming defensive and denying the given feedback.

On these two matters I have to say that I agree with Suf. I've noticed some moderators do not like negative feedback, which is not a problem because most people don't want to hear about what they could be doing better/ what they are doing wrong. But I would think that someone selected to be a moderator would have enough intelligence and maturity to know that embracing negative feedback can bring a positive change and is important for character growth. In terms of the expectations of a standard member and a staff member their is definitely a difference. You aren't selected to join these forums but you are selected and given the decision to become a moderator. Standard members are here for their recreation or other personal agenda while active moderators are here for the same reason but with added responsibilities. I see these responsibilities as a job/work and I believe that some of the staff members should realize this and be a bit more professional. Staff members are here to serve the needs of the forum and its members to the best of their abilities and not listening and maturely embracing feedback by those very members is inexcusable.

Agreeing with above.
I do believe that the purpose of this thread is to place and review feedback. Yet, it is ironic that the few moderator posts that have been placed here have NOT considered SuF's initial post (the technical 'feedback'), nor have they been helpful - aside from Gohan (respect dude (Y)).
Instead of arguing for self and team benefit; perhaps ANSWER the initial post considerately? And as moderators yourselves, if you deny any allegations or have any arguments against the feedback; it would be wise to provide your REASONING against. Otherwise, to a sythe-newb like myself, the 'moderator' title begins losing its definition.
"But I would think that someone selected to be a moderator would have enough intelligence and maturity to know that embracing negative feedback can bring a positive change and is important for character growth."
- With values such as these, you should be considered for moderator status yourself (Y)

Aside from this - if any moderator takes offense from this post; I would like to express my apologies. Criticism never feels great, and i truly understand that. But to a person like myself; the methods employed by a few mods is not at all respectable. I know that you're intentions may be wholeheartedly for the benefit of the sythe community - but then again, that's only half of the coin. The other half is to physically 'show' your concern and strive to support the rest of us. That's the part which I disagree on for the time being.
P.S.

1. People think you're kissing up because you're knew, and don't know what's been going on in this forum for the past few months/years.

2. The laws of the country which Sythe's servers (the ones it's hosted on) apply to this site. Those laws, and the forum rules are what everyone needs to abide by.

3. Relating to the above point, that's probably why FireZ banned the kid who made a guide on how to steal things from stores.

4. This thread is useless (Suf, your intentions may be in the right place, but you're going about it in the wrong way).

In my opinion, just let this thread die, as it won't change anything.

Your post is actually quite good and brings up good points. Although I would like to point out that Sythe is a private organization and has the right to deny anyone access to the forum so there is no freedom of speech.
