Moderator Accountability

I received a warning that I felt was unfair. I contacted the moderator ( @Im Solo ) about it directly in a calm, coherent and articulate manner. Yet they did not reply.

I was warned for "Accusing Someone of Scamming Without Proof" when I said that a person was suspicious, and that they exhibited behavior that is typical of a scammer. What I did not do was claim that they scammed anyone.

Furthermore, if someone has scammed somebody, they have violated an agreement. It is possible to provide tangible evidence that such a violation has taken place. Finding someone's behavior suspicious is a purely subjective matter. There is no standard of evidence other than "reasonableness." I believe that any reasonable person would have found his behavior suspicious.

Additionally, the person whom I was suspicious of did not dispute anything that I said, in any way, negating any need for screenshots - especially considering that this was a negative vouch, not a Scam Report.

 

Sorry, I hit submit too soon. As a single warning point doesn't amount to much of anything, this is about indignance more than anything. I would appreciate an explanation as to how I actually broke a rule, or for the warning point to be removed. Thank you.

 

You deliberately slandered the user on their business thread without any supporting documentation for said accusation. As such, a warning was issued by a moderator, which was the correct action for this matter.

 

1. I did not spam, I posted my feedback and then replied to the two users who replied to me.

2. I did not say he "was a vader with an open report", I said that there was a thread about him being a potential ban evader, which is true. However, it was pointed out to me that the report was quite old, and as I stated in the thread, I recanted that bit of my reply.

Objectively, I said nothing that was false. So far as I know, per this thread here, you are allowed to leave negative feedback. "false defamatory" is redundant because defamatory means false. My subjective experience (that he is suspicious) is an opinion, and therefore cannot be factually false.

 

Thank you for your reply Shin. Can we be clear: slander, by definition, means a false accusation. It seems that you've preemptively made up your mind about this, could you point me to something I said that was false? I expressed my opinion that this person's behavior (agreeing to use a middleman, then saying "fuck off" when I actually brought a middleman in) was suspicious. I fail to see how that can be false.

Could you please clarify for me what supporting documentation is needed?

 

Without supplying anything conclusive, your words are deemed as hearsay. As such, you were given a warning as per the rules (and such is the warning aptly named).

Please understand that I'm genuinely not trying to be difficult when I say this, but how far does this go? If I pointed out that he was rude, would I need to supply screenshot proof? If I leave a mixed review of a service ("kinda slow, but everything is ok") do you need proof then too?

This isn't clearly defined, and the warning is not aptly named. The warning is named "Accused Someone of Scamming-" full stop. I didn't accuse anyone of scamming. I said he was suspicious. That alone is enough to cause confusion, wouldn't you agree?
