    Modem Question

I currently have a Motorola Sbv5120 with service all hooked up.

Its in downstairs room by the boiler fml. The router is extreme poor signal in my room. And im a gamer and i have a cap card but can not use it due to the poor signal. I was wondering if i were to buy a modem like these http://motorola.links.channelintelligence.com/pages/prices.asp?sSKU=SB5101 which are all motorola modems would i need to pay double what am i pay for sevice. so instead of 20 dollars it would be 40? or no. Could i just hook it up and it works.

Buying a new router is not a question

Well the problem lies in the router, not your card. Sorry.

    Modem Question

Upgrade the card and router to Wifi N. Which can reach higher transfer rates and 10x signal than WiFi B.
