    Mobile/Profile how secure?

Since SVU has fizzled off and now we have the option to enter our mobile numbers into our profile for recoveries etc, I'm curious how secure and if it's safe to do so?

As in compared to however the mobile information was kept via when we had SVU and now is there any difference safety wise.

Who could see the mobile number when SVU was implemented, and if it's on profile, who can ..if anyone can, see it now? I'm aware regular users etc can't see it, I mean staff wise. Is it hidden until/unless someone ends up scamming..?

Is it purely for the use of recovery option/2FA removal etc. Or does it/can it still play a role in catching scammers, and if some has scammed could they not just edit it back out? So is the phone numbers saved hashed etc.

Feel like this would have been better placed in the support section, due to sythe relativity.

Uhm, but security wise...just want some clarification or understanding. . @Moes @Sythe

Phone numbers are stored encrypted now. We decided not to store them hashed because phone number hashes are incredibly easy to crack. Right now the phone numbers will only be used for recovery purposes via an automated system. That's all I know.
